Remarks
SVITS provided a free environment overall with lesser restrictions but my department i.e.IT still follows the strict school rules.The canteen is fine to eat in sometimes. Also being situated at the outskirts of the city there are very few options to explore outside the college.
Entrance Preview
I was allotted the college seat according to my JEE Mains score.I got the IT branch.I wanted to land up in a technical stream and so opted for the same.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am pursuing Bachelor of Engineering from SVITS. I feel the course has developed me alot as a techie and made me fit for the current industry.The main focus was on Practical learning and we were suggested to utilize all our free time in labs learning new concepts..hence we spent more and more time in front of computers than we did in classes.We can choose Elective in 4th year according to our interests.
Internships Opportunities
College provided with an optional internship.I didn't opt for it but I know it was a good learning experience.No stipend was offered for the same.
Placement Experience
Placement scenario is good in college.In my department almost 80 Percent of students are placed by the beginning of 4th year. Every year the major companies visiting are TCS, Systango,Voltas,ClearTrail,etc. The average package is 3.5 lacs per annum.
College Events
Spandan is a national level event in which technical and cultural both events are included.Spardha is the sports event.Also MUN are organised every year with a great success.These are big events with average footfall of around 1000 people.Organization is very well done and authorities are involved upto a level in it.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was very affordable as compared to most of the other private colleges who charge around 1 lakh to 1.5 lakhs anually. Our annual fees was around 80000 with bus facilities involved.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships for minorities in general is available.I didn't avail any scholarship. When I needed an education loan college did support with a smooth process.
Campus Life
College provides with average extra curricular facilities.They provide fine for sports activities but no such provisions for arts or music.I got to develop an interest in table tennis and improve my skills in badminton because college has a sports complex with the a court and tables for TT.
Hostel Facilities
I didn't reside in hostel but I am aware of the poor Room conditions.They were on sharing between 3-4 people.The food and prices are average.
Alumni/Alumna
I had near to no interaction with alumni.We only interacted during placement.I don't think there is much alumni contribution in our college.
Exam Structure
No exams and labs were scheduled hectically. Mid semester exams were scheduled twice in a semester giving enough time to prepare for them.I would definitely say it was a chill culture which was a breath of fresh air after doing schooling from a strict convent school.The free culture allowed me to explore my hobbies and interests.It helped me develop as an individual.
Faculty
In our department most of the faculties have done their post graduation and are knowledgeable enough regarding the technical subjects.They are not as interactive as you would expect college faculties to be and this is where I felt like stuck at a school life again.The teaching experience is very nice for most of the subjects as I have definitely learned alot during the period of 3 years. It allowed me to land up in big company like TCS though campus drive itself.
