My college experience

We have a poor canteen facility. The sports section has also been weak. Though we play basketball college during leisure v are not satisfied with the sports facilities.

I wrote jee mains, kcet, comedk and VIT. I landed into this college through kcet. There was no interview just had verification procedures. I was fascinated with engines since my school days and wanted to spend time exploring various automobiles and design my own projects.

The course I chose I has a lot of basics which have outdated info compared to the present day's technology. Equal focus is given to practical scores but not to practical learning. We had elective option in the 3rd year for one subject. We were asked to choose the subject v wanted from any of the 3 teaching departments namely mechanical, electrical and computer applications.

College hasn't provided any internship to me yet. Stipend is not awarded to Mechanical students in most of the companies as far as I heard from my seniors.

The placement happens in both the semesters for the final year students. The placement percentage is an average of 40%. The major companies that visit are Accenture, tech Mahindra and TCS.

Every branch organizes their branch fest in different months of the academic year. Most of the branch fests are inter college fests. Average foot fall for these fest are around 800 members. The college fest is held in the month of April of every academic year. It is named VERVE. It is one of the top rated fests in the city. Average foot fall is about 2500 each year. It is a festival period of 3 days which includes majority of cultural programs. Till date the college authority has been very supportive to this fest in terms of funding and organization.

For a student from kcet it is 85,000 For a student from comedk it is 1,85,000

Colleges did support our automobile projects but they have been a bit stingy with the financial matters. Our team hasn't been allotted to spacious room to work on our project yet.

I don't reside in a hostel. I have visited my friends there. Few rooms are shared by 3 members and few others have single occupancy. The rooms and corridors are cleaned very often. The hostel is under CCTV surveillance. The hostel food is good Good and hygienic though few north Indian students take time to adapt.

We have very less contact with the alumni. College didn't provide any interactive platform for it. The college holds name boards of the the academic rank holders. Apart from this there is no information of the alumni.

The exams and lab schedules is student friendly. Though the labs tend to tire us, it is mostly held on the 2nd half of the day. We can finish the lab and rest at our residence.

All the faculties hold a PG degree but very few have the knowledge to teach. Some have knowledge but don't have the skill to teach. Only few are really interactive.
