Course Curriculum Overview
I chose metallurgical engineering looking at the excellent placement report. The faculty are very well qualified and cooperative. Their teaching methods are very engaging and interesting. The mid-term exams are held twice in a semester and then the end-semester exam.
Internships Opportunities
The internships are open to all students from any year. The college encourages and supports the students willing to do an internship. Tata Steel gives paid internships and various other companies also give paid internships.
Placement Experience
Placement in our college is pretty good and it's improving every year. Students from the 6th semester are mostly eligible for placement. Various companies visit our campus both tech-based and IT. The highest package last year was 44 lpa and the average is around 8lpa. Almost every student who is eligible for placement gets placed. I am also planning to grab a good placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since it's a government college the fees are very affordable. The college fees are around 20000 per year for general candidates. The hostel fee is around 10500 per year and the mess charges 4000 per month. There are Financial assistance also available from the various clubs and societies in the college. Scholarship like Kalyan is also available.
Campus Life
Various clubs and societies organize cultural as well as technical fests on campus. Tech fest is held in the month of May and cultural fests have no such particular timings. There are around 15 to 20 clubs and societies on campus.
Hostel Facilities
Separate hostels are given to all branches and all years. In a room, there are mostly 4 members. The hostel has the basic needs. The meal quality is quite good actually and has a different menu for vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Every student who has completed his admission can opt for a hostel. The hostel charge is around 10500 per year and the mess charge is 4000 per month.
Admission
Firstly I cleared JEE mains with 84.9%ile and applied for the JCECEB counseling which costs around 500 for registration. I got a state rank and the counseling process began. I got a seat on that basis and went to the college for admission. The process was quite smooth.
