Likes

The evenings are beautiful on campus. When there are events in departments, they are also very fun.

Dislikes

The climate is very harsh. It's either very hot or very cold. There are scarce rains.
The food is also very bad. There are no options to swiggy or Zomato food here.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very vast. I chose this course due to the vast syllabus and the opportunities. There are around 10 teachers in our department and we have 5 batches of students. All the teachers teaching here are postgraduates, some with Ph.D. and some pursuing their Ph.D. The term exams are always on time according to the college schedule. It is harder to score marks.

Class Size: 35Course Fees: INR 15000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee hike is gradually happening. There are no opportunities for campus jobs. There are scholarships from the government. I have not availed any. There are also concessions for news and other categories.

Campus Life

There is an annual cultural fest in the month of February, March or April. It will have sports activities as well as cultural activities. Departments also conduct fests. There is no specific time for these fests. The library is not very vast in connection with my course.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are not very good. The hostels are not run according to UGC guidelines. The food is also not very good. Non veg will be provided once a week. The registration process and hostel availability is very easy. There are no rooms in the walkable distance to rent.

Hostel Fee: INR 35000 per year

Admission

The admission is done on a merit basis. I had to appear for the CUCET which is now CUET. There are no cut-off marks. You write a single exam to appear for a lot of central Universities. After the exam, you can apply for the courses you are interested in in multiple universities. They will prepare a list based on your score.

Performing Arts have more of practical things as from acting to direction we are taught everything. History and Theory as some theory part and the kind of career path that our course provides, I think for students interested in this, should join our course at Christ University.

A good college for starting your new journey

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a bachelor of arts degree in criminology, psychology and english optional. The branches of criminology and psychology are upcoming in India in the present time. Course taught is revelant and in present. It is regularly updated. I chose tge course mainly due to criminology. Various aspects of the subject is covered in 6 semesters such as forensic, ballistics, cyber, laws, victimology etc. They do take us on field visits. There is one mid sem exam and one final exam. There is record work as well as assignments given at regular interval. The difficulty level is medium.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

My college experience

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.

I applied for a few Central University based on my entrance marks. But i couldn't able to make into other colleges due to shortage of marks. When i got selected into this university, the first thing that attracted me was, the varied section of students which gives a platform to explore about various cultures.
