NIT JAMSHEDPUR- a verbal tour

I got civil engineering program based on my rank and number but also this is an evergreen stream. The possibilities to excel are endless in this particular field as the construction process never stops worldwide. Some of the faculty members are not very cooperative. Although they have a good variety of knowledge but some of them were unable to engage us throughout the course. As this branch is more of field work, we were taken to any construction site for some on-field experience.

Axxela, a trading company hired students at a good stipend. A few core companies like Exxon Mobile, Saint Gobin, and ISWP offered internship opportunities to the students at our college. Other than that NHAI offered students to do vocational training during the summer break.

After entering the fourth year i.e. seventh semester, students are eligible to sit in the placements. There are companies like Amazon, and Atlassian comes for the SDE role, whereas Flipkart and Delhivery come for the supply chain management role. A good percentage of students get placed during the season. The average package of the college is 16lpa and the highest went up to 80lpa. Profiles for which companies visit are sde, analyst, and supply chain.

Students belonging to SCs/STs get full tuition fee concession. Whereas students belonging to OBC, students with annual family income less than 5 lacs get 2/3rd remission on their tuition fees. And students with an annual family income of less than 1 lacs get a full tuition fee waiver. Talking about the on-campus job opportunities, it's quite good here if you are in branches like CSE, ECE, or EE. The highest package of the immediate senior batch went as high as 80 lacs. Although, for core branches like civil, mechanical, and metallurgical, production the average is slightly less comparatively. But they also get abundant opportunities.

College life is okayish only because most of mine went in online mode. That is why I didn't get to enjoy my budding days in college. College life is more about friends and all kinds of nonsense things you do with them. So how you mold yourself more or less depends on your company. Other than that, various fests like urja-sports fest, culfest- our cultural fests in which various artists come to our college for different types of gigs, and ojass-techno-fest. And various prize money is also provided if you win. We have a newly built diamond jubilee lecture hall and various affordable hubs to eat. And there are various facilities provided like the library and other curricular activities. There are various clubs for cultural activities, sports, and different tech clubs which take part in varied International events.

I came to NIT Jamshedpur through JEE mains examination. This examination is usually conducted by NTA twice a year. All those who have passed the 12th can appear for this examination. You can appear for it two times after the completion of the 12th. The application form on site NTA is easily available. After qualifying for JEE mains I went for JOSSA counseling through which I got into this college.
