Course Curriculum Overview
Faculty Student ratio is very good.All the faculty has been teaching good and had very good experience.Though some staff are new in SRC campus,are trying to teach in good way. Teaching methods are mostly through Black Board and Projectors.Labs are also available.Like civil lab, mechanical lab, drawing lab etc... Coming to the exams three mid exams will be conducted and they are not too easy nor too difficult.They are moderate.But some times they give very hard papers in sem and mid exams. Also pass marks should be more than 50 finally(50% from mid exams,50% from sem exams). But some faculty will not give good marks.They should only know why they are doing like that.
Placement Experience
From 5th semester students are eligible for campus placements.But mainly from 7th semester actually.More than 100+ companies are visiting.Highest package offered by Paypal(35LPA).99% students got placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
It is the only university in now a days taking less fees and offering good quality education. But there is a fees hike for B.Tech like 5% increase every year. All students should pay equal fees,only Inter board topper like state 1st student can study for free here.There will be merit based scholarships after joining.
Campus Life
For SRC theta annual fest will be conducted,for main campus Kuruksastra and Daksh(Technical fest) will be held.There are a lot of books in Library in main campus.Newly a building has been build recently which of 3-floored completed with Books.It is such a vast library.In SRC campus too there is a library with 25k books in it.All classrooms are well maintained.There are different type of clubs run by students.
Admission
Admission process is purely merit based.The seats will be issued based on Jee mains percentile and Inter board examination.You can find application forms in sastra official website. Ranks will be issued based on your marks above.There will be two streams.Stream 1:JEE+INTER (70% seats) and Stream 2:INTER(30% seats) There are two campuses for Sastra University.Main campus in Thanjavur, second campus named SRC in Kumbakonam.If you want to apply for both campuses,you should seperately fill application form for each campus. There is a 30% reservation for Thanjavur and Trichy District Students in Sastra University.
