- I feel like Bhawanipur is one of the best and most modern colleges out there
Course Curriculum Overview
I am a commerce student with plans to do CA, so Bcom was the best course for me. The Faculty in Bhawanipur are all extremely talented and experienced in interacting with students. Their teaching methods always focus on the practical aspects of a topic more and why give us a lot of examples to really make us understand the concepts well, before mugging up their theories. The college also has a dedicated website that has the course materials and lectures of all the subjects in each semester, for students who might have missed some classes or not understood certain topics. The faculty is also extremely qualified, with many of them being CAs, CSs and even MBAs. There are also a lot of extremely qualified guest lecturers who get assigned to the top classes. The exams were timely and gave us enough time to prepare. The exams are also rather easy to pass with only a basic level of studying and internal marks.
Internships Opportunities
I haven't enrolled in any internships yet, but I heard they are good and well-paid according to the student's skills. There is an internship drive every three months and a lot of popular companies like Law Point come.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Fees structure is 35000 per semester, which adds up to 70k a month. If you are one of the first 200 students to enrol into the college, with an aggregate of 90% or above in class 12 board exams, then you'll be eligible for a scholarship which would essentially halve your semester fees. Securing good grades thereon in the semester exams will also award you a similar scholarship scheme.
Campus Life
The annual fest Umaang, is one of the best fests in all over Kolkata, being very well organised and sparing no expense by the college. Even beyond it, there's always some sort of an event going on in the college, from sports to arts to public speaking to music. So creativity and talent are always given a chance and never go unnoticed as long as a student tries. The college also has one of the best libraries I have ever been in. It's completely air-conditioned and has comfortable seats and charging stations, along with free-to-use computers. It's never crowded and the staff always maintain an orderly and quiet environment. The availability of books is also insane as the library has 100s of regularly updated books on almost any subject you have heard of, all free to issue for 3 months or more. The classrooms are also fully air-conditioned and spacious, though the seating can be a bit uncomfortable. They also have smart class amenities which the faculty often utilises.
Admission
The cutoff is around 50% and almost anyone can get in fairly easily. The admission process can be done completely online through the Bges website and can be applied at the start of any semester. I am not aware of any reservation benefits, but the first 200 people to enrol who also have an aggregate of 90% in their 12th board exams, get a scholarship for their first year where the fees are halved. The Admission process is honestly really simple and easy to use. The Admission fee is 1000.
