What Students Say
Likes
- I dont really like many things about the college. But the professors are serious. The classes are held regularly.
- I like political science department professors. They are good.
Dislikes
- The compulsory rule of 75% attendence. Just hate it.
- They don't allow B.A General students to do M.A.
- The professors are unfriendly and sometimes very rude and not understanding. Also i find them pretentious.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I want to do upsc and this course gives you ample time to focus on your presentation. The faculty is average. I have two subjects political science and sociology. The professors of sociology are average. I don't like their teaching methods. They just dictate some notes. Also, they are very strict. Political science teachers are good. They have a good teaching style. They explain the concepts nicely. Exams are held from time to time. And the questions are difficult. Also, professors don't give marks.
Internships Opportunities
The CR will regularly send you update about the internships in the WhatsApp group. You can also get it from the placement cell website. There are a good number of internships available. You can also enroll in Internshala for internships.
Placement Experience
In your 3rd year, you become applicable for placement. In our course, we don't have good placements if you don't have any experience or certificate in that particular role that you have applied for then your chances of selection are less. I don't know about the companies that come for the placement as I am not taking any. Most students get placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The few structure is different for different courses. For B.A General you have to pay around 30,000 for two quarters. But since the new education policy has been implemented, the fee for each semester has increased and according to me, it's too much. And if you are an outsider like me then be ready to pay the rent for pg or hostel.
Campus Life
Life at Sxc will be fun if you can make good friends and pass every semester with decent marks without arrears. There are societies and if you are interested you can become a member it will add to your social life. Societies do take interviews. We have our annual fest every year in February called Xavotsav. Apart from that there are events organised by various societies.
Admission
The admission was based on 12th marks. I am pursuing B. A General and I am currently in 3rd year. The eligibility for my course was 85% above marks in the 12th board. The details about the application form and dates are available on the college website.
