During my tenure (2006-09), college was under BPUT but after it became autonomous. As I am not in touch of alumni group for a long time, not sure about the current status of the environment in college.
Entrance Preview
Entrance Exam : JECA (Joint Entrance examination for Computer Application) Score : 93 (Rank), This college was among 3 best colleges for MCA in Bhubaneswar( ITER, SILICON & RCM), All seats were occupied (ITER, SILICON) before my turn comes. So I chose RCM.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum was according to BPUT (Biju Pattnaik University of Technologies).In 3 years it has covered 1. Maths2. BCE (Business communicative english)3. NetWorking in detail4. Programming Languages (C, C++, Java, Adv. Java)5. Operating System in detail6. Software Engineering in detail7. Computer Security.8. ADA (Analysis and Design of Algorithms).
Internships Opportunities
For internship, I managed at my own. Didn't get any help from college. I used to get a stipend from my state government (Tripura Govt), No stipend from RCM.
Placement Experience
Due to IT recession was peak at that time (2009), opportunities were very low. Even though got placed in a company and started working as trainee from 2010.
College Events
We used to celebrate all kinds of cultural events like.1. Annual Fest.2. Ratha Yatra.3. Holi 4. Diwali 5. Puja (Vishwakarma, Ganesha, Saraswati, Jagannath) etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
46000/- PA as tution fee + 12000/- PA as hostel fee + Misc. It comes around 70000/- PA over all (According to the fee structure in 2006-09)PA : Per Annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
Education Loan facility were available but I didn't have to go for this option. Most of my friends availed this and according to them it was hassle free.
Campus Life
1. Gender Ratio : 70 Boys + 50 Girls (Total 120)2. Extra Curriculur Activities : Cricket tournament, Picnic parties, College Fest etc.)3. Workshop : AI (Artificial Intelligence), Robotics etc.4. Zero tolerance to Ragging, Sexual harassment and regional business.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel and food facilities were ok. Most of the rooms in hostel were 4 seater, some of them were 2 seater, only 2 were single seater. Canteen was inside college premises and was on time but food was kind of ok.
Alumni/Alumna
There is an alumni group formed by college management. I am also in that group. I may not be in constant touch of the group but in case of any queries or concerns I can communicate with others in the group and gather their feedback.
Exam Structure
We used to have a very good lab facility with internet connectivity (24x7). Sufficient number of computers.
Faculty
Faculties were good as compared to other colleges in bhubaneswar. I would rank them 3.5 out of 5. College management used to hire external faculties from XIMB and UTKAL university were exceptionally awesome.
