Good college

I chose this course because I was sure of the subject and that I have a keen interest in the accounts and finance part of businesses. Faculty-student ratio is a little less and necessary actions and improvements can be made for the same. Most of the faculties have a master's degree in their respective subjects along with necessary teaching degrees. Senior professors all have doctorates in their respective fields. The teaching method is kept up to date however can be further improved. Term exams and mid-term exams are held timely. However, the exams are a notch more difficult than the exams held by Calcutta University although SXC is under the same body but has autonomy over such decisions.

From semester 5 students become eligible for campus placements. Various big companies and MNCs like PWC, Deloitte etc. come for offering placements to our students and make relevant offers. The highest package offered was 20lakhs p.a. and the average package offered is around 4lakhs p.a. 20-40%of students that have applied get placed during the placements. My plans after getting the degree are to enter the corporate world to gain experience for some time and then go for MBA.

The fee structure is given on a yearly basis and is fairly high than other colleges offering the same course. This can be considered as a drawback. There is below-average financial assistance and scholarships given by the college. the Placement cell provides the students with fair enough internship opportunities and good enough campus job offers.

The biggest fest conducted is Xavotsav held in the month of January There are other individual club fests and exhibitions that happen year-round. However, the college is strict regarding attendance and discipline within the campus which sometimes affects the overall campus and social life. There are ample amounts of books and journals available in the library. All the classrooms have their own projector and speakers and mics and both white and blackboards. There is a big field used for both cricket and football as well as a basketball court and a gymnasium area for badminton and other sports. The college also has a TT room. There are social groups and clubs run by students but are mostly unofficial and without the supervision of the college.

The course eligibility was to have passed the 12th standard board exam or any such equivalent exam with more than 40percentage and then selection was based on the marks one got in the same examination. Application forms and dates and fees all get updated on the college website itself. Reservation benefits are there and can be available by providing the necessary documents while registration and application and further physical verification of the same is done. The entire fee structure for the full course must be published each year and not on a yearly basis that is subject to change .
