- The college and its flagship course B.Com (H) is having the 5th rank in entire country according to NIRF rankings 2023.
- College campus is well maintained neat and clean, facilities like AC classrooms, etc.
- Teachers teaches us very well, they teaches us through ppt also.
Dislikes
- Campus is a little bit small compared to other big universities in India as the college is 160 year old.
- There should be a interview process also during admission so that you can test the etiquettes and behaviour of student you are admitting.
- Some students got admission during Covid, are not adequate to sit in class, they are not mannered.
Course Curriculum Overview
Teachers are very good in terms of teaching, exams are timely, college is also in the morning till 10 in the mornings so that you can do any extra curricular after college. Most of the teachers teaches through ppt created by them but they teach very well.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are there through placement cell, some are paid some are unpaid, however college provides internship in good companies like Tata Steel, Nippon India fund, KPMG, Deloitte, and many others. Normally they provide a stipend of Rs 5000-10000
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements in 6th semester, a lot of companies visit college, generally more than 100 companies, giving the highest package of 16lpa and average of 7 lpa. Most of the students who apply to get job are placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no scholarship or reservation in the college except for catholic Christians. Fees are nominal and are less if compared to the similar college in country. For B.Com (H) course fee for 3 years is around Rs. 2 lakhs.
Campus Life
Annual fest is conducted in the month of January normally, fest name is Xavotsav, its the largest fest of west bengal. Infrastructure is pretty good keeping in mind it is a 160 year old college. Library is one of the best in the west bengal with almost every book and reading section. College is having different societies like Xavier's Commerce Society, Xavier's finance society, entrepreneurship development cell, etc.
Admission
The admission process is entirely based on marks in 12th boards, application is available on their site, its quite simple to apply here, ofcourse competition is little bit high. One improvement that I feel can be adding a interview round in admission process to know the attitude and behaviour of the student you are going to admit.
