- Students clubs are very fun. You meet a lot of people and make a lot of friends despite them not being in your course
- Technical workshops are quite informative and fun too
- Campus life is good and the campus is full of greenery, so it's quite peaceful.
Dislikes
- Students clubs are not that active. They should be much more active.
- Workshops are held only for 2 or 3 days which isn't that effective for students to get started in that particular topic.
- College doesn't provide much internship opportunities.
Course Curriculum Overview
We are surrounded by data. My course is all about it. It's something I am passionate about. MREC's Data Science course intake is about 180. The students are divided into three sections with approximately 60 in each. The number of faculty depends on the number of subjects we have to study in respective semesters. Most of the faculty are either Ph.D. holders or are pursuing Ph.D. at the moment. Their teaching is efficient enough. They teach the topics through PowerPoint presentations which makes even the most boring topics interesting. 2 Mid-term exams are conducted after completing 2 ½ modules each over the span of 6 months and at the end there's semester exams. Midterms aren't that difficult. Semesters are a bit tricky but nonetheless, we can pass if we just listen to classes focused and revise them from time to time.
Fees and Financial Aid
There's no fee hike. The cost to study depends if you're a day scholar or a hostler. If you're a day scholar but use the college bus to commute, then you have to pay the transportation fee which is Rs.35k in addition to the regular college fee i.e. Rs.115k. If you are a hostler, then you have to pay the hostel fee which is Rs.80k.
Campus Life
The annual fest is conducted in April. Tech Fest is conducted in September. There are lots of books and research publications available in the library. A digital library is available too. Classrooms are spacious with good ventilation. Sports fest is conducted both on and off campus from time to time. There's a Student Association Club(SAC) which includes many clubs like dance, music, art, photography, etc. Websites like atharvadsc.com and csamrec. socials are run by students.
Admission
All the students who took MPC(science stream) and passed the exams write a common state entrance exam i.e. EAMCET to get into any engineering college. The admission is solely based on the rank secured in the entrance exam. Other than that, MREC doesn't have a private entrance exam. EAMCET application form, fees, and dates can be found in eamcet.tsche.ac.in.
