Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I am fond of Chemistry. There are 10 faculties and 1 laboratory assistant in our department where a single class contains 80 students. All the faculties in the department are well educated and most of them have completed their PhD in the respective subjects. All have their unique style of teaching. You can discuss your doubts with anyone of them at any time and they are ready to help you out. An end-sem exam is taken by GTU at the end of the semester and Mid sem exam is taken by the College in the middle of the term.
Internships Opportunities
Big companies like Adani, Reliance, and L&T carry out placement drives in the college and offer jobs to eligible students. Every student who really wants to get the placement from college definitely gets it. In the chemical department, companies offer jobs of process engineer, Design engineer, production engineer, etc.
Placement Experience
A student is eligible for placement at the end of 7th sem. Generally, Computer and IT students get 100% placements and other branches have placement percentages above 60%. The highest and lowest package depends on the branch but talking about the chemical department, Last year the Highest package offered was 8 LPA and the average package is around 3.6 LPA. I want to get placed in Adani Enterprises.
Fees and Financial Aid
Generally, college fees are 3300 per year and you can apply on the Digital Gujarat Portal which is a government scholarship scheme that provides scholarships to students for their basic needs. There are special department-wise coordinators who guide you regarding these types of scholarship schemes.
Campus Life
Generally, Tech Fest is organized by GTU in the month of February every year. In VGEC, VISHWACUP is organized every year in which various sports events are organized. Classrooms are provided with adequate air circulation and enough ventilation facilities. All the classes are equipped with projectors. Too many social groups are working in our college like Adventure, NSS, Bachpan, NCC, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel admission is merit-based. You have to register on the college website to take admission to the hostel. All the rooms are provided with a bed, table and a chair for each with 3 students have to accommodate in it. Hostel mess is also there where you can have a meal at a reasonable cost. Hostel fees are very nominal (2500 rupees per year). The hostel mess provides good quality food.
Admission
I started my Engineering in Chemical Engineering at VGEC in 2020. At that time, you can get admission to the college as per the ACPC guidelines. 5% of seats are reserved for the JEE passed Students. Other seats are filled by the ACPC merit list. You can register to the ACPC website after the Gujcet result is declared and wait for the ACPC Merit rank to be declared.
