Remarks

There is no college campus. This is the most hated point. Other than this, The canteen is also not good, Constuctionis going on to make two more courses available for the students. Teachers are good. Ample of opportunies are there with all the labs including audio- video lab, radio lab, recording lab, kibrary, computer rooms, etc.

Entrance Preview

I had given a common entrance test (CPT) for getting admission in GGSIPU. On the basis of the rank(1695), I had gone through a counselling procedure. As I was from outside Delhi, so there were only 15% seats allotted for outside Delhi students. I got the seat in third counselling. we had to opt for the choices of college providing the particular course which you want to do. On the basis of an order of priority, I was assigned this college. There was no interview process. I was very passionate about the field of journalism as well as writing which made me opt for this field of study (Journalism and Mass Communication).

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course has a wider scope if talking about the present scenario. Nowadays students want to try different things. They want to make their passion as their career and I think this course gives them huge opportunities. The main focus is on practical learning. It is understood that practical knowledge is more important in the industry. If you are doing good in your field, you are the master, no matter what so ever your grades here. The main focus is the insights of practical training. I have gone through a media research also. I had also given chance to do various internships so as to get an industrial exposure.

Internships Opportunities

No, college didn't provide us with the internships. Instead we, ourselves have to search for it after every year. Also, no stipend is given during internship days.

Placement Experience

0.5

Placement is only for bba and b.com students and not for bmm students. Talking about the % for other courses is between 80-85.

College Events

4

Aaina-Media fest, Ek-Pehal, Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan, press Conferences, placement drive for BBA, BCA, etc. College contributes for the same and yes they are the big events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I had to pay 70,200 per year. This course is of three years. But we are not getting the facilities as according to our fees. We had a great issue with the fees. Taking unnecessary high fees and giving no or fewer opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, there is no scholarship provided by the college. Also, so such facility of getting loan or similiar thing is entertained by the college.

Campus Life

1.5

They were ample of opportunities for extra curricular activities. We have fests, shows, film festivals, games, etc to showcase our talents.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

There is no hostel for my college. Such kind of any facility is not there.

Alumni/Alumna

Not yet, but the college has taken an initiative for organising an alumnis- meet from the next year. Various social pages were made to bring together student- alumni on the same platform. It was not heard till about any such contribution.

Exam Structure

Not really! only one internals is being conducted in whole semester apart from externals but the thing is we don't get sufficient time to complete the syllabus due to the events and campaigns and all practical files work. This is a major issue. But yes, the exams are conducted very seriously with full time watch.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is highly qualified as well as interactive. They are the ones standing with the students everytime at any circumstance. In fact, I am blessed to have such faculty. They always make us learn different things with the applications. We are always taken to Doordarshan, India Tv, Ndtv, etc for the practical knowledge as well as for attending the shows.

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Reviewed on Mar 14, 2025(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate my course four out of five because in journalism is a field where people are not about so much. The main stream media does not show the real problems and challengs of the country. They live in a bubble of their own. Many of the times they provide miss information to the people which hurts the hearts of the people. They do not cover multiple aspects of media. The exams in the daj is not so hard you can easily pass it by just 4 to 5 days of preparation.
