My college experience

The college in overall is not that bad apart from the shitty hostel food and sometimes lots of examination conducted by the college, the college is good , there is a stadium to play in our college too. Every games and sports are held only if you are interested to participate in them Wifi facilities are bad although it has a good speed but the sites are blocked. My experience is wonderful cause of my friends.

I appeared for COMEDK exam. After that i got a rank of around 8000 which is not that bad rank and the best college that i was getting on that rank was sit,tumkur for electrical engineering course No there wasn't any interview process Just the counselling and taking admission

I chose electrical and electronics engineering and it follows VTU syllabus The course is good but you may not get campus placement on this Campus placement will be for IT companies only very few core companies visit the college There are rooms for reseal if your idea is good college may fund too There are subject offered like C++ and data structure which are not from my department but from CSE

College provide Internship but than you have to pay for getting that internship So students apply for some government organization from where they can get internship. I haven't done my internship yet. My friends did from outside and they didn't go for internship most of the days but got their certificate and them no one cares for your internship during placement since we are going to be placed in IT sector companies only.

Placement scenario is overall good Companies visit our college mostly IT sector companies visit us. Around 70-75 % of students gets placed every year but package is not that overwhelming Average annual package is around 3.5 lakhs and maximum is around 11 lakhs. Tcs is the mass recruiter, recruiting around 250 this year. Other companies are IBM, sony, tech Mahindra, mu sigma, vm ware,society general and many others come for recruitment.

Halcyon is the college fest which is organized during march and apart from that there are lots of events conducted in college Technical events are technisium, IEEE ideas, Quizzing inc events, corsit events for robotics and there are some students organization in the college too and they conduct cultural events time to time like team Quest who conducts jash and mock placement event Qts and in addition to that a fresher's event. Halcyon is quite big and rest are college level Technisium is national level event. Organization do really well in gathering crowd and sponsors and making the event successful since they are run by the students not college authority

It is costly Fee structure per year is 175000 excluding of hostel charges . Hostel charge for one academic year is around 66000, hostel food is not that good. And i think it is charging a bit more. college fee is same for all the years.

No scholarship for non Karnataka student, they are scholarship for Karnataka students and for sc st students from the same state Loans can be get for this college

Anyone can form an organization In sit, tumkur and organize events and other things like Seminars Yeah i got ample opportunity and i have long list of co curricular activities done by me from attending events to organising events. College won't stop us from doing that at the same time won't encourage too but there are lots of organization which will inspire you to do so. There is an auditorium in terms if facility

Yes i m residing in hostel from two and a half year. Hostel rooms are quite small There are triple and double bed rooms in our hostel which is inside the campus. They charge same for all the rooms. Pgs are available outside of the campus but hostel is enough to accommodate everyone.hostel fee is around 66000 and food is bad and i mean it, it is really bad. But it won't let you die, it will keep you alive all four years. PGs are of the same cost as of hostel.

There is a good alumni network and they do come here from time to time and events are there for them

Exams are very frequently held in every semester for each Subject there are 4 quizes, 2 internal and 1 external. Apart from that we have to submit around 4 assignment and lab internals if that subject have lab.

The faculty members of my department are well qualified . They will teach whatever is in the syllabus but won't encourage to go beyond that. On an average the facilities have 10-15 years of teaching experience some new faculty members are there too and some are having 25-30 years of teaching experience too. They are interactive in class sometimes but not always, we are allowed to ask any doubts beyond class hours too but nobody does that kind of stunt.
