My first few days at MUJ

My overall experience in the college is going well as I have time to balance my studies and my free time and the seniors are friendly here and there is a strict ban on ragging here and also is an anti drug institute so intoxication and smoking are strictly prohibited here.

I gave the Manipal University entrance exam and I got a rank of 20,800 and I got my preferred stream in Btech in MUJ.There was a counselling session after the entrance exam and you chose your preferred stream.The stream I'm currently doing now is Mechatronics which is a growing stream and will have a lot of scope in the coming future.

The course which I chose will be beginning in the 3rd semester.Focus on practical learning is more as the exam conducted is an open book examination

An Industry Academia meet was organized on campus in collaboration with Secure Meters. This was attended by a lot of students and as a result, they now have an insight on what to expect after they graduate

Companies like TCS,Amazon and Dell come to our college for placements. I'm not well aware of the placement system as I'm a first year student but the placement from Mechatronics the previous year was 100%.

The technical fest called Techtales is held in the even semester of the academic session and lot of colleges around the state come and participate in the events.Oneiros is the cultural fest which takes place in the even semester of the session and a lot of events take place and a lot of famous artists from around the country come and perform here.

Academic fee-2.2L Hostel fee and mess fee-1.8L The academic fee is around 3L and the hostel and mess fee is around 2L for single room accommodation the fee is higher.The amount paid is done for the whole academic year.

There were many scholarships provided but I'm a first year so I don't know much about it

Many indoor and outdoor facilities are available to students, for sports, cultural and technical activities outside the classroom, through various Student Clubs. The sports facilities include TT, carrom, football, tennis, badminton, squash, cricket, throwball, kabaddi, etc. Intra- and inter-University matches take place regularly, throughout the year. The Music, Literature and Dramatics Clubs facilitate students to hone their creativity and show their prowess in the cultural arena, under the able guidance of expert faculty. Technical Clubs like the Green Club, Robotics Club, IEEE Students’chapter, IE(I) and ICEIT chapters, etc., allow the students to learn and update themselves with the latest technologies and showcase their abilities in various fields, outside their scope of study.

I'm staying in a twin sharing hostel room with an attached bathroom and a centralized cooler and heater system.Both twin sharing and single rooms are available on the campus.

The alumni were friendly and they said that their tenure in MUJ was a chapter in their journey of life

Somedays it would be tiring but if every work was done on time then you could study and chill at the same time too

Most of the faculty are from famous universities like IIT and NIT etc.Very experienced and professional.I am a first year Btech student and I'm being taught by teachers who teach PhD students and they are very experienced and skilled.
