A second home

I choose English literature as a mode of expression of thoughts in a manner where the writer could pour their heart while the reader could find it as nectar to live on. Almost teachers are well qualified and their teaching methods are very approachable as well as very easy to understand. In every 2 months, we have our mid sems while in 4-6 months we have our semesters. It is moderate to pass but difficult to score good marks as there is a vast concept starting from the history of English literature to modern English.

It is very low maintenance in terms of financial structure. I got the SC scholarship every year as I belong to the SC community. It's almost Rs. 10000-11000 per year. Other than that students also apply for national scholarships.

Every year we had a welcome and farewell party for the juniors and seniors. Along with that, the university arranges annual sports events where students of different sports participate and achieve various trophies according to their ranks. Also in our university, students go for inter-hostel sports events, dance programs, and other activities. There are clubs like Ravenshaw literary club, and Ravenshaw PRIDE organized by students in various activities. Also on Independence and Republic Day, we had Trianga yatra, where we used to hold the flag and have a match around the campus.

The hostel became a second home for me. It is a well-structured building with a proper water supply, electricity, and drinking water. The hostel has a study room with air conditioners, proper light, and fan connections. Our hostel has also wifi availability. The food is average. They charge Rs. 30 for a meal, where they give sufficient food. It required a caste certificate, residential certificate, parents, college identity card, and some other important certificates as the necessary documents for admission. The total expenditure of the hostel is 7500 for the total year. And the mess charge every month is approximately Rs.1200-1400. Anyone who is living 25km away from home can apply for the hostel.

The admission process was smooth going and very systematic. Faculties were friendly and very supportive. It was 78% for English Hons to get the seat. The application form was easily available on the Internet. In any cyber cafe, it's easy to apply for the university. There are reservations regarding castes, economically backward classes, and children whose parents belong to the defense. It was a great experience regarding the admission process.
