So the college is overall good but the freedom given to students is less, especially to girls. girls are not allowed to go out of campus per semester they can go out twice(and can extend with so much of drama).

I took IIT, AIEEE, BITSAT could not clear any of them scored 90%in my 12th grade friends suggested Sastra as it was one of the good private college in Tamilnadu it actually is the all india ranking of the college in 2011 was in 70s. and it is among top 3 private colleges in Tamilnadu.

So i studied civil engg. and the curriculum was quite good moreover there was freedom to take extra subject for four semesters and thus saving yourself from attending college in last semester you can do your internship or your project outside without having to attend classes so there is not much focus on research however, if a student is interested, there are many professors who motivates/guides students towards research.

So, the internship initially was for mech dept however, we do have SAP where students are given the chance to do their project abroad recently, companies offer the recruited students for internship during the last semester and the stipend is in the hands of the company.

One good college in terms of placements companies like Musigma, Microsoft, Freshdesk, IBM, TCS, WIPRO, Accenture, hyundai, ashok leyland, Tata motors, VMware, LnT, VA tech Wabag, Flipkart, Google, latent view, go frugal, lister and many more 80-90%of the students get placed salary varies from 3 lacs to 14 lacs.

Loans are easily offered by banks i took loan from SBI scholarship if a student is in top 2%, he get's scholarship of 20% of the yearly tution fee if the student is in top 3% to 10%, he gets the scholarship of 10% of yearly tution fee.I have got these scholarship every year.

Students from all over india come here you'll find biharis, andhra guys, keralites though the number of north indians are few, but still you can find them 30% non tamilians for those who are interested in extracurricular activities, one awesome place is sastra. we've club for english, hindi, telugu, dramatics, dance, music team, sports coming to economic status, it's variable.

Hostel, single room 16000/year, two-sharing: 12000 year, four sharing: 8000/year, six sharing : 6000/year, mess food is decent, healthy. I was a day scholar and did taste the food however, it gets boring as per the hosteler's point non-veg is not allowed

Yes, they're approachable i had amazing group of seniors they help you not just in academics but also every other activities.

So, there are 3 mid semester exams (CIA) per semester and the best two marks are considered for internals. Students have the freedom to leave one lab exams are conducted once in a semester mid semester two subjects per day. Gets over in three days enough
