Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because I was interested in the tech field and wanted to learn about new technologies. Talking about the student to teacher ratio, it is approximately 8:1. Teachers are highly qualified in their respective domains but some teachers are just there for the sake of their salaries and does not offer much in terms of intellect. The teaching method is average. Faculty just read the content from the smart boards and label it as teaching. Every semester was of 6 months but in our case due to mismanagement by university we have to attempt three semesters in a single year. Exams are not that tough, you can study two days before the exams and pass with a decent CGPA.
Placement Experience
Placements are quite average and students become eligible for campus placements in their 7th semester. A large number of companies visit the campus but their packages are quite low. On paper, MSIT has a 100% placement record. The highest on-campus placement is 18 LPA and the average on-campus package is 6 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
MSIT charges Rs.1,35,300 as their annual fees. Out of which around 45K is university share and the rest goes to the college. There was no scholarship scheme as such. The placement cell is really active and tries to bring as many companies as possible and tries to get each student placed. No on-campus internship drives are there at MSIT.
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest of MSIT is Avensis. It is not at all like the fests at DU. It is conducted in the month of April. College just likes to save funds and tries to organize 3 fests on the same day resulting in chaos. Books are available in the library and the course books are provided to the students by the college itself. Labs are equipped with ACs but classes are not. There are a number of clubs and societies in MSIT but only a few of them are given priority by the college others are just run by the students themselves.
Admission
For taking admission in MSIT, one has to attempt the JEE MAINS exam which is organised every year by NTA. No other exam is taken by the university. First of all, applicant have to register themselves on the university portal and there they would be charged an amount of Rs.1200. Then the applicant must have to register for the online counselling on the IPU admissions website using their registration number and upload their JEE MAINS marks. According to the marks uploaded by the applicants and the preference of institutes submitted by the student, they may/may not get allocated to a college. If they chose to either accept the seat or move to the next round, they had to pay Rs.45000 which can later be adjusted in the first year fee(if admitted). Then after subsequent rounds applicants can either freeze their seat or float and move to the next round. After the successful freezing of seats after the sliding round, applicants are called to the college for document verification and fee submission.
