Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Information Technology as it is well demanded in the market. IIITA has aimed to maintain a relatively low ratio to ensure quality education and effective student-teacher interactions. However, the exact ratio may differ from department to department. ITA typically only hires faculty members who have strong academic backgrounds and relevant expertise in their respective fields. Teaching methods may include lectures, hands-on labs, group discussions, real-time projects, etc. We have exams in 3 parts C1(30),C2(30),C3(40) a total of 100. Every component is divided into multiple parts depending on the course One can be divided into 10 for the project 10 for viva and 10 for the review test. C1 has the first part of the syllabus. and C2 covers the second part of the syllabus in C3 the whole syllabus will be presented.
Internships Opportunities
Most of the compaines offer an SDE (software developer) role. A maximum number of companies offer a stipend above 1l per month. We get to work on projects such as building a site for the campus to store projects, building a site for booking movies, etc.
Placement Experience
7th sem and 8th sem students are eligible for seating in the placements. The number of companies visited is approx. 250 maximum every major MNC has visited the college. Every student on the campus last year has been placed except for the students who are going for higher studies or civils. The Highest package was around 82 lpa and the average was 34 lpa (approx.) and the median was 29 lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
Unlike other IIITs, IIITA is the most affordable college as it is a government college. For an open CAT candidate the complete B.Tech can be done in less than 9 Lakhs which is almost the same as other government colleges. There is a scholarship for students who have a CGPA above 8.5 and low parental income per year. Mostly there are no on-campus jobs.
Campus Life
There are a couple of big fests which happen in the months of October and April. The fest in October is called Effersence (normal fest) and April is called Aporaskha which is a tech fest. Most of the famous books in each specialization are available in the library. Sports competitions happen every couple of months. There are clubs such as dancing, coding, singing, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Students in 1st and 2nd years must stay in a double room whereas other-year students have the option of choosing a single room or a double room. Meal quality is okay. For a double room, the rent would be 6000 approx per sem whereas a single would be 12000 approx per sem. Hostel rooms are pretty good neat and clean.
Admission
Everyone who joins this college must write JEE Mains and need a good score to join the college. You need to apply through JOSAA which is handled by the central government. As it is conducted by the government reservation is available for OBC, SE, ST, PWD, EWS, etc.
