What Students Say
Likes
- I loved the campus life. It is one of the most happening campus out of all the colleges in the city.
- The freedom to explore sports and co-curricular activites is one of the strongest points of this college. It enables students to explore their talents.
- Faculty members are also very helpful. They help each and every student with all their problems.
Dislikes
- The fees structure is quite high. For an average middle class student, the fees structure is very expensive which makes it difficult.
- The campus is not big like other college campuses. It is quite small and sometimes feels like a corporate building.
- The classrooms could have been better considering the fees. The benches are sharp and uncomfortable and the air-conditioning stops working sometimes.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have always been a fan of English literature. That was my main reason for opting for this course. The faculty-to-student ratio is on the lower side. BESC is a big college and sometimes the English faculty, although quite big, cannot provide enough for the students. Every teaching staff is well qualified and they teach very well. Their teachings are interactive too which makes the experience of education quite interesting. Term exams were often. Our college has a CIA (Continued Internal Assessment) system, so we have to appear for term exams quite often. The exams were fairly easy.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides good opportunities for internships to make a good portfolio and aid their families financially. Various events are held where students explore all the skills and opportunities to join certain companies for internships.
Fees and Financial Aid
With all the amenities and facilities the college provides, I would still say the amount of 25k per semester is quite a lot of money. For the average middle-class student, the amount becomes a big damage to the pockets. I got no scholarships.
Campus Life
At BESC, social life is probably one of the best. The college is always hosting some fest or event. Our annual college fest, Umang, is the biggest college fest in the city and it is huge! The college makes a grand stage and the whole campus almost feels like a film set. The college library is one of the most advanced libraries. It has a plethora of books and with just our ID cards we can issue a book anytime. Our libraries facilitate students with computers too. Sports and extracurricular activities are always happening in the college. The sports arena and the big turf on our campus allow students to play various sports like badminton, basketball, billiards, boxing, and many more. The college provides students with groups, to explore their co-curricular side like music, dance, etc.
Admission
My admission process was quite simple. BESC provides the comfortability of online admission. So, from their website, I submitted all my documents and waited for a few months, and I was selected. The application form can be found on the official BESC website. For my course, which is B.A. English Honours, the application fee was 1500. Application dates start from the month of March.
Other Applied Colleges
Presidency University | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (English)
I thought BESC was a much more happening college for every aspect of life. From education to co-curricular activities.
