Remarks
I will give this college a thumbs up for anyone who is looking out for an executive mba course with some experience. This adds enough ammo into your armor for a successful career ahead.
Entrance Preview
I took Cat got 97 percentile overall. I was looking for a 1 year executive mba program. Great lakes perfectly suited my needs so i applied for it.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good. The first three semesters were very rigorous and pushed all the students to get their basics clear. After that we had to choose our stream of specialization and pressure eased out a bit. Overall it was a good curriculum.
Internships Opportunities
It was a one year course so we had some live projects but no internships. We had companies like amazon come and give stipend as high as 25k per month,which is a good amount considering that it was only a live project and not full fledged internship.
Placement Experience
We had almost 100 percent placement for our batch. We had companies like amazon,kpmg,deloitte visit our campus and take good number of students. Average package offered was around 11. the packages were dependent on the number of years of experience of candidate prior to mba (as everyone was experienced and two being the least experience required for the course) . We had highest package offered by amazon which was around 44. most of the students got placed in the placement week itself.
College Events
We had multiple events celebrated in our college. Latitude being the flagship event. we had a financial conclave, hr conclave and swim (successful women in management) along with that. We had prominent speakers for all the events. many eminent personalities like phil kotler and apj abdul kalam have visited great lakes in past during latitude.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is reasonable considering the facilities provided. Our fees was 15 lakhs while the same one year executive course fees is at 26 lakhs in isb. Considering the hostel facilities and the faculty we got 15 lakhs is a reasonable amount. Also lot of banks are available to give education loans. hdfc credila being one of them.
Fees and Financial Aid
College offers a prize amount for the batch topper among boys and girls. There are many banks who are ready to give loan for the pgpm course. hdfc credila being one of them.
Campus Life
The campus life was awesome, gender ratio was good with 33% female population. This is one of the b-schools where you see lot of hot girls in the campus. lot of opportunities were there as for the extra curricular and sports activities are concerned.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities were excellent. We had option to take single room or shared room (two sharing). We needed to pay around 40k extra for a single room. The mess food was good, vegetarian food was common for everyone while for non veg we had to pay extra. W
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is not huge as the college is only 10 years old, it is building up slowly. But the seniors are helpful. we have lot of alumni interactions during the year.
Exam Structure
Exam structure is as in any other b-school with two or three exams in a day. It becomes hectic but that is a part and parcel of doing mba. During the first three semesters it was very grueling as we had papers like statistics and financial accounting to d
