Likes

The college maintains a stringent Anti-Ragging Policy. Upon admission, all students are required to submit an Anti-Ragging form. Any violation of this rule will result in severe actions being taken against the student.
The college environment promotes a friendly demeanor among both seniors and peers.
The college boasts expansive infrastructure with multiple rooms and even includes the convenience of an elevator.

Dislikes

Having visited numerous colleges in Kolkata, I've observed that the concept of a campus is not well-defined among these institutions.
Goenka College once had a canteen, but due to the pandemic, it was temporarily closed and remains unavailable till the present.

Course Curriculum Overview

Admissions were granted based on the results of the 12th grade. The morning session had a higher cutoff (94% for general category) compared to the day session (92% for general category). The college website hosted the application form. The institution offered seat reservations for ST/SC, OBC, and PwD categories.

Fees and Financial Aid

Goenka College offers an exceptionally budget-friendly fee structure, possibly one of the most affordable in West Bengal and even across India, at just 825 per semester. Campus Life

A vibrant student union at the college orchestrates numerous events throughout the year. A mandatory subscription fee of ?1500 ensures membership. There are placements in the college campus in the last semester with several companies coming for interviews such as big 4 and big 6 companies and the placements are around 60000-70000 per month after the course.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Not the best but u can make the best.

To take admission in this college u have to have a minimum percentage of 93% after that merit list is provided and when ur name comes in the list u can take admission and join the classes verification is done afterwards....Read More
