Likes

The campus life is very soothing. One can’t skip exploring the vastness and beauty of HAU.
Infrastructure is all nice and the special thing is that you get labs at the field site itself
Course is very interesting and high in demand nowadays

Dislikes

Some of the professors are biased which can be easily seen in the marks we get in exams
Hostels has become older so either need to renovate it properly or build new ones
The only thing which pinches me is that no annual fest occurred here since I enrolled in the course

I chose this course coz I have a keen interest in plant science and HAU is one of the biggest agricultural universities. In our class, there are 50 students. The faculty is superb with a great experienced teaching career.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 20000 per year

Internships Opportunities

First of all, we get an internship in our course curriculum itself. In this, we get a stipend of Rs400 for 70 days. Apart from it, you get internship opportunities with various agrotech companies life bayer, syngenta, Dhanuka, Shriram etc

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are very minimal here. One can easily afford it. And students can avail of various scholarships on the basis of their academic performance and socio-economic status. HAU merit scholarship is provided to the meritorious students of the batch

Campus Life

Honestly speaking no annual fest has occurred since I enrolled in this course but yeah other cultural programs keep occurring frequently. Nehru Library of HAU has a very very huge collection of books. This is the best university if you’re a sports person. Interclass, intercollege, and university games occur on a timely basis. There is an Instagram page named ‘hauconfessions’ which gives all the official and unofficial information about the university.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel building is a little old but the architect is awesome. You get single, double and triple accommodation rooms based on your degree and course. The rooms don’t have AC but nice fans. For summer you’ve to buy your own cooler. We get very hygienic, healthy and delicious food in the mess

Hostel Fee: INR 500 per year

Admission

The admission was based on the entrance exam and the cutoff of the general category for the year 2020 was 72/100. With state quota I got a seat in the BC-B category, and I had 69 marks in the entrance examination. Any student having a science stream in 12 is eligible for this course. Registration window is available on the website of the university i.e. hau.ac.in

Placement Experience:

Their is placement but not very good placement the average placement is 4 LPA. They can increase their placement ratio by having better companies bond relationship. Highest placement was 9 LPA Nearly 7-10% Student get placement. My plan after degree is to continue further studies from different universities.

Pros and cons of being an agriculture student

Course Curriculum Overview:

I belong to a farming family and my wish to improve the traditional agricultural practices my family is using and to help the farmers community and serve as a gem to our motherland is the main reason which motivated me to take this course. All the faculty members are well qualified and are working as assistant scientists or scientists. Their practical knowledge is really great and they teach with a lot of interest, students are also keen to learn the new aspects of farming. One semester is completed in 6 months and mid term exams takes place within 3 months after that final exam takes place. It's not much difficult to pass the examination just a good knowledge of the subject is required.

Remarks:

It is a reputed university. Have a good education facility and agriculture course. That's why I choose this university. Also this University have an affordable fees structure and a very neat and clean enviroment in campus.

Pros and cons of being an agriculture student

The students who have completed 12th with PCB/PCM/PCA/PCMB with 50% marks are eligible for this course. The application form, application fres and application dates are available on the official website of the university. Some seats are reserved for the underprivileged categories SC, ST and OBC along with economically weaker sections. Seats are also reserved as sports quota, for the children of army officials and physically handicapped students as well. Some seats are also being provided to the children of the villages which have donated lands for the KVK's. The reservation benefits should be given to only those students who actually need it.
