Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I would like to serve people. The faculty: student ratio is 1:10. The faculty includes the head of the department, professors, assistant professors, pgts. We have 4 exams in a year and all are conducted according to the schedule. It has a moderate level of difficulty.
Internships Opportunities
There are 19 departments. All students get to do an intership in all the departments for a month or month and a half. This allows students to get to know all the areas well. Internships are provided in our own college, in the Baghbazar area and also in Aamdanga.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees in our college are 9000 per year. There is no hike in fee structure, it remains the same. Since this is a government college scholarships are provided by the government of West Bengal. Some of them also include financial assistance.
Campus Life
We have an annual fest named Lobelia which is mostly conducted in the month of September. Most of the books and journals we require are easily available in the library. Most of the lecture theatres have facilities like AC and projectors. Various sports activities like Cricket, Football, Badminton and cultural activities take place regularly. Academic groups like AMSA and SAMSA are run by students.
Admission
After grade 12 exams, students take a national entrance exam NEET and after qualifying and obtaining more than 50 percentile they can get admission to medical colleges. Application forms, dates and fees are available on the WBUHS website. Reservation benefits are for SC, ST and OBC. If all the counseling processes were completed online the processes would speed up and it would be easier for the students.
