Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

It was my dream of becoming a doctor since childhood , and I managed to get into the top 3 colleges in kolkata. Faculty in every department was great and taught with great care. Faculty: student ratio is approximately 1:10.Teachers are highly knowledgeable and all classes are conducted according to schedule. All semester exams were taken on time and with all the seriousness needed, and university pattern followed. One needed to study seriously to pass in exams.

Internships Opportunities

5

An internship in this college is a lifetime opportunity. All the departments have a great patient load, allowing us to deal with a variety of diseases, including rare ones. This allows us to learn more and be good diagnosticians. The internship is also available in Bagbazar and Amadanga areas. All 19 departments have internships, where everyone is allotted for one month. It's a great experience. The internship is paid, with a striped significantly higher than that of many states.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a government institution, there is no hike in fees whatsoever. Constant course fees of 9000/yr are maintained. It's of great advantage for us middle-class people. There is a good opportunity for scholarships for the underprivileged, as well as for those with great academic performance.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest is Lobelia, which is the biggest fest in Eastern india. A star-studded line up of Eminent Bengali and Bollywood singers, artists, dancers and comedians grace this fest. The library is world-class, with all famous Indian and foreign author books available, with air conditioning. Classrooms are well equipped with smart boards and projectors, and sound systems for ease in teaching. Indoor sports like table tennis and carrom are available along with many outdoor sports facilities. There are many clubs that include college students. One of them is Alap, which is the dramatic society of rg Kar Medical College.

Admission

I chose this college after cracking NEET in 2020 after getting a rank of 11726 and a state rank of 420. After enrolling in West Bengal State counselling, I had to go to the college for document verification and the admission procedure was very smooth. All the forms will be available on wbmcc website. The college staff and seniors were very helpful and helped me in each and every step. The eligibility for mbbs course is that you have to be a science student with 50 per cent marks atleast

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.
