Course Curriculum Overview
I had the dream of becoming a doctor since childhood so I chose this course. Faculty: student ratio varies in departments but on an average there are 9-10 professors for 250 students. The faculty members have to complete postgraduation from the same branch after mbbs, they can also do super speciality and then become professors. The teaching method is mostly by slides. You have to take a total of 9 semesters in 4.5 years and 4 professional exams completed by the university to get into an internship. The proof exams are a little hard to pass.
Internships Opportunities
The internship we get in various departments in a rotatory manner in the hospital and outside the hospital also like in Aamdanga and Bagbazar . In an internship, we get to learn clinical things very wells from different departments. We get around 30000 per month.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is 4500 rupees per semester. It's the same from many years due to the help from govt. Of west bengal and it's very helpful for students. There are many scholarships like swami vivekananda scholarship but I didn't get any. When you get into internship you get stipend around 30000 rupees per month.
Campus Life
Campus life is too good. The annual fest of our college is lobelia which is the best fest of eastern india. There is also our manifest called therapeutic. All kinds of books and journals are found in our library. There are indoor sports like table tennis, badminton etc. But no grounds for cricket or football. There are musical groups, drama groups and cultural groups in our college run by students.
Admission
To get this course you have to pass 12th with the science stream and cross the cut-off of neet exam. The application form has to be found on the NTA website, the application fee was 1400 rupees. From the obc category, there was not much benefit, the cutoff marks were 5-10 less than that of the general category. The admission process is smooth already.
