Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because technology interests me and many in my family are engineers. I don't know what is the condition of the faculty now but in my time(4 years ago) it was about 70:1. Teachers were not good I tell you, most of them didn't even know how to teach. What they taught in 6 months I could have learned in 20 days or less. Exams were timely and it was not so difficult to pass though I had backlogs in some. It was mainly because it was hot there and the teachers were boring and I didn't wanna hear what they were saying.
Fees and Financial Aid
the fee structure is fairly simple, a total of eight semesters, you can pay yearly or semester wise it's your choice. They even give scholarships to the economically weak. bright students also get scholarships. you can get an internship but very few are paid. Living cost is also low compared to other states and food is also good there.
Campus Life
The campus is good and well equipped, all kinds of sports ground is there whether it is basketball, volleyball, Cricket, you name it. gyms and cafeterias, they even have a subway now inside the campus. There are also Fest and tech fest in November and one in Feb I think. Libraries are decent and classrooms are not so because in summer it gets really hot there.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are good if you opt for the decent range types. It is clean and with hot water in the winter, food is good except for breakfast. Hostel is affordable and should it book it asap in the hostel counter in the main admin block. You can also rent a pg outside campus for a fairly decent price.
Admission
There are no eligibility criteria for the course as such but having at least some knowledge of the course you are applying for is a good practice. You must have passed all your subjects with maths as a subject. You can find the application form online on the official website or you could go to a local admission cell of the university, I chose the latter. You can also get scholarships if you have scored well on boards or JEE exams. The admission process is not hectic but it's a big university with over 25k students, So it gets crowded sometimes. especially when you are paying fees, it's always a long line.
