Remarks

My college was really good, but the administration was not that good sometimes it felt like they intentionally want to trouble the students but barring some incident it was a great time in my college.

Entrance Preview

After a bad IIT JEE exam I decided to do well in the remaining exams. I prepared well for UPSEE and got a decent rank (2378). During counseling I had to choose between JSS Noida and IET lucknow, I decided to choose IET as it was a government college and I thought it would give me better opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Like most of the Engineering colleges in India, the curriculum mainly focused on theory with practical being just a formality. We had 12 theory subjects each year except final year (which were same for all branches in first year) and later had a final year project in the final semester. Internal marks played a huge role in deciding the aggregate percentage.

Internships Opportunities

No my college didn't provided internship for every branch. Only branches like CS and IT had companies arriving to take interns. Although internship was compulsory for all after 6th semester. I did my internship from ACC cement Jamul without any stipend.

Placement Experience

3

Placement were above average, only about 60% of the final year students were placed and TCS was the mass recruiter. For Chemical branch companies like Tata Chemical arrived in the college recruiting 6-7 students. Other branches like electrical and mechanical had Honda Tata motors. CS had most of the recruiters.

College Events

4

Every branch had its own society and a branch fest was held after every 2 months. The cultural fest of our college Encore was held in the month of march every year some famous singers like Neha Kakkar and Toshi performed in it. The sports fest was named shauryotsav and it was held during winters.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a government college it was quite an economical place to be. During my time the fees was as given below: College fee: Rs 48750 Caution deposit: Rs 5000 Hostel fee: Rs 10000 Hostel Maintainence Rs 2500 Mess Fees :Rs 14000 Most of the students whose family income was less than 2.5 lpa had their fees refunded.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't availed any scholarship but the student whose family income was less than 2.5 lpa had their college fees reimbursed. It was a state government scholarship.

Campus Life

3

The college life was quite cool, there was no interference i.e no one was ever bothered what you are doing and what not you are doing. It really made me self dependent. The gender ratio was pathetic it was 3:1 in favour of boys. Every branch had their own cultural society and organized fest according to themselves. Events like robotics usually happened in mechanical engineering society. Events like debate, workshops etc also took place during branch fest. Students of every race and ethnicity were there in the college with no discrimination. The only bad thing was about girls hostel that it gave minimum freedom to girls after 8 at night as it was a curfew time.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel was like every government college hostel, not like a five-star private hostel. The rooms had to be maintained and kept clean by resident itself. Some hostels were clean while others were dirty. The quality of food also depended on messes some mess was quite good and had good food being served while others were quite bad.

Alumni/Alumna

An alumni meet happened every year with alumni of different decades attending the event. The Junior senior relationship in the college was terrific seniors were quite helpful and juniors obedient.

Exam Structure

As soon as I went to my college it got the autonomous status that year. So the exams were held in college itself. The exam consisted of 3 parts, sessional theory and practical. The first 7 semesters had 4 full credit (100 marks) subjects and 2 half credit(50 marks) subjects and 4 practical subjects. Final semester was quite different it had 2 full credit and 1 half credit subject and a Project.

Admission

After getting IET Lucknow I deposited Rs 10000 to lock my college. The date of registration was published on college site and it was 17th August 2012. So I went to my college on 17th August with the required documents and DDs. It was an offline registration process ( now its online) and it was quite hectic. There was 2 steps first registration for college and second hostel Allotment. Firstly I filled the form for college registration and deposited Rs 48750 + Rs 5000(caution money) through DD. Then I filled my hostel form and deposited Rs 10000(hostel fee)+ Rs 2500(maintenance fee) through DD and I was allotted NBH 1 ( now known as Ramanujan Hostel). Later I submitted Rs 14000 as cash in Vijya bank as mess fees.

Faculty

3.5

The common faculty of the first year was really good as most of them were permanent faculty but after entering in my stream I got to know that there were lesser number of permanent faculty over there and there were mostly guest faculty. Given that they were above average as most of them did their PG's from IIT's. Most of them had the knowledge of the subjects they were teaching and were quite helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
