A transforming Journey

Overall college is really good. As in there is not even a single case of ragging. First years are given very good atmosphere for learning.They have their different hostel inside the college to give them a good environment. Seniors are quite supportive in every aspect, College management is also good , things might take some time but yes everything that needs to be done is done.

I gave JEE MAIN - 2014 and scored 220 marks in that. I chose this college because my rank was 6875 and hence it was the best college which i can get with home state quota with a decent branch like ECE. I chose ECE as i was little bit interested in computer science but CS was possible with this score and ECE could be the closest i could get over here.

Well don't expect much from the course curiculum. As this will just give you mere idea of the basics besides this if you have interest in any particular topic than you are supposed to dig deeper yourself. Curiculum is quite old and has not been revised from a long time . It needs to be revised as soon as possible according to the new technologies which are coming to industry now so that student can proper guidance what's going outside the shell in the corporate world.

Yes there are ample internship opportunities provided by the college , so many companies are emphasizing on hiring so many interns to convert them in full timers. Stipend offered by these companies may vary from 20,000 INR to 1,00,000 INR . Overall experience is great with so many learning opportunities.m

MNNIT provides lots of jobs opportunities. Lots of big companies visits the campus . Packages offered by these companies is decent and comparable to the package offered by them in big IIT's . Many big firms that visits MNNIT campus are Goldman Sachs , Amazon , Visa , Oracle , Qualcomm and many more.

Besides so many events , there are two big fests organised in the college . In the middle of the odd semester ,we have our technical fest in our college , that is AVISHKAR , it gives immense opportunies to showcase your academic skills to form new projects , ample opportunities to learn so many new things . In the middle of even semester , college has its cultural fests i.e CULRAV , again college is filled with so many cultural events. Lots of participant from different colleges come and perform in the college. Besides these an event for entrepreneurs is also organised in the college , in which tech talk by founders of so many big start ups are there and ample of learning opportunities are there.

Fee structure is feasible . For 2k14 batch its around 1.2 lac per academic year (including hostel,mess) but after that , for the next batch fee has hiked. But if you come inside an income slab between 1-5 LPA or below 1 LPA , in that case UP scholarship is provided to the natives of UP.

UP Scholarship is provided to the students who are native of UP and have income in a particular slab. Besides that a merit scholarship is also given by the college to the students who are in top 10 percentage of their branch. As the college is having good rapport education loan can be easily sanctioned by any bank .

Gender ratio in the college is same as you find in most of the government . that is 1/10 . Diversity is quite good , you can find so many dynamic peoples from every part of India also people of different nationalities come here . Don't expect much from extra curriculur activities , labs are quite decent well equipped . MNNIT doesn't really have a big ground as campus is not so big so sports facilities are limited. Different clubs as in Robotics clubs , Programming Club are active throughout the year and also really helpful for juniors.

First of all there is a whole new 7 floor hostel for first years in the academic area , in which only first year students resides to avoid them from any other hassle and any ragging issues. This hostel is SVBH , and being new equipped with whole new wardrobe , spacious rooms. 3 students have to share a singke room in this hostel. All other hostels are present in the hostel area , All 2,3 and final year students reside here in this different hostels of this hostel area. In second year you have a choice either you can take a room with 3 other people i.e 4 occupancy room or double occupancy room and a choice filling is done on the basis of pointer. All third year students are given double occupancy room. Final year students are given single room. As far as mess food is concerned food is not really bad. Sometimes it;s good otherwise there 2-3 canteens in the hostel premises which run upto 2-3 AM in night which offer decent food .

As this college foundation stone was laid more than 50 years back. There is no comparison in alumni network of this college with any other one. Alumni meet is organised every year in the college on a very large scale , these alumni also supports college in every possible aspect.In case you want to apply in any company in that scenario this alumni network is really helpful as there are so many alums in most of the reputed firms.

Exam structure is simple. Semester consists 1 mid semester examination and 1 end semester examination . As in generally semester is of around 4 months. So 2 months after start of the semester we have to give mid semester examination in which around 40-50 % syllabus is covered and after 2 months of mid semester exams , end semester examination takes place. Regular assessment in case of lab is there in form quiz , viva followed by final assessment during end semester examination. During end semester examination life is little bit hectic as you have to cover huge syllabus in just 1 day as no preparation leave is there.

Admission process was quite straight forward. After third round of counselling , there were certain notifications on college website which i followed , few details on the college which was needed to be submitted. Also they ask for anti-ragging undertaking signed by notary officer it might take time so better be ready with this.

Faculty at MNNIT is highly qualified. All the faculty members are Phd in their field . But the thing is they don't really emphasize on any topics which are outside the curriculum. Everything inside the curriculum is followed. But the thing is that curriculum is quite old and proper revision of the curriculum is the need of the hour to let students know about new technologies and little bit info about where industry is going .
