Loyola is life!

Good and bad. Mixed reviews. Hope it is good in future.

I didn't write any entrance exams to get into Loyola college. They require only your 12th Grade marks (irrespective of your board).

The college is extremely good in academic syllabus. But, the staffs aren't that qualified and experienced. You will be having almost all the features ever required. But, most of the won't be used as they will be under maintenance or in 0erfect condition (especially in UG COMPUTER LAB). Otherwise, its very good.

No! The college doesn't provide internship opportunities. But, its mandatory that students should go for internship in their third year (between 5th and 6th semester). The students will be give 15 days attendance also for internship. While, the genuinity of the internship certificate is not verified mostly.

Loyola College has a very good opportunity. Almost every good MNC/Organization visits the college for recruitment. Top companies like Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Deloitte, Facebook, E&Y, Barclays, Accenture, and so on. They offer a very decent package. Which is actually much higher than the package offered by the same companies, in other institutions. It's a well-known fact that the students who are eligible and deserving get a very good package and quick call letter.

The college is known to have a variety of cultural events. And, has Ovations which is considered every important and popular! Almost all celebrities attend the cultural event. It happens like a festival. All religious festivals and important events are celebrated grandly.

The day shift fee is very economical. But, evening shift is very expensive. Especially computer science, and viscom departments which first around ₹65K/- for a year. Otherwise, its cheap. They try to grab a lot of money from students naming as Other fees, etc. Which is never disclosed. And, is not refunded either. The students would-be paying a lot for their outreach activities and for club activities, final year project. They expect all to spend a lot of money. So that, everything looks premium for this premiere institution.

Yes, the college provides scholarship for lower economic level students. And, loans are provided by the LSSS. The students cannot be able to secure a loan in any nationalised bank as it is not considered as professional degree. The scholarship provided is very biased and, only lower casted usually get it. Students from higher castes of lower economic group aren't provided mostly. Which is considered unfair. Yet, they provide loans for almost all the students who apply for.

The campus is very Good. And, it is know for its excellent and marvellous gender equality. The infrastructure levels are satisfactory and can be upgraded also. Some building are very advanced and comfortable. The main building is considered the best and is known for its architecture. It was built in 1920s and, is recognized for its archeological features.

Hostel and mess food is decent The hostels are actually expensive and even fan in a room is regarded luxury. The hostellers should be pathi more if they use a fan or use any other electronic devices in their rooms. The buildings are old and are low lying. Thus, rainy season is a serious problem. The sanitation facilities inside the hostel are adequate. But, not satisfactory. The mess food is average. And, is retarded expensive. Yet, they provide good quality food (don't expect good taste ).

The college has an alumni organization. They comprise most of the well known celebrities, in the current trend. The students are forced to become a member of the organization by paying ₹1000/- in their final year (failing which, denies us from writing our semester exams).

The college exams are controlled by the Controller of Examinations cell. There are internal exams being conducted for 40 marks. Which sums up to 80 marks. Then, 20 marks for assignment, etc. The 100 internal marks are reduced to 50 and is added with the external semester marks which we write for 100( reduced to 50 as same as internal marks) Example : 33( internals) +44(external) = 77 total subject marks (/100).

Usually, the applications are released on the day, when the 12th State board results are out. For example, if the results come out on may 7. Then, the applications are issued from the same day. I didn't get enough marks to qualify for a seat. Yet, got through recommendation from a very powerful person. As, Loyola College stands as the second best arts and science college in the whole Nation. Which inspired me to get into it. Currently, its NIRF ranking is 6th all over India!

Plus, one cannot depend just on the staff for academics. Moet of the staffs is unbiased. While some are partial towards some students. The staffs are very calm and composed. Some staffs are very cruel and wicked. They, try to take revenge on their students. Plus, the students are unpowered in front of the staffs. Sometimes, they take revenge by reducing marks, etc.
