Remarks

Placement and curriculum are good and better for DG student than non-DG. DG means a student who is studying marine engineering, nautical science, GME, etc Non-DG mean normal BE mech, petrol, Eee, etc

Entrance Preview

University themselves conducted an exam and selected the candidates. I choose this college because it was the only private college in Chennai provide BE petroleum engineering and I am the 7th batch

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course curriculum was available at admission block they provide ous all the detail we want. As I am in 4th year I feel the curriculum should have been better than this. Most of the subject needed to be updated as the growth of technology is very fast.

Internships Opportunities

No college does not provide internship, we our self has to find one. Now they are trying there best and it is been announced that from batch 8 students without arrear will be provided internship in a shell company.

Placement Experience

1

Only 1 core company visited all others are from a different field. In short, there is no placement. That one company is tech Mahendra who need petroleum engineering student s. As the oil price was low in the past year it was difficult to bring companies but now and in the future, there may be more chance for placement.

College Events

3.5

Each department conduct individual fest, seminars, etc And overall university celebrates once in a year cultural and festival-like Pongal, Onam, holi, etc. Some international conference is also conducted by petroleum and marine department. college support all kind of needs for technical side rather than non-technical.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive comparing to anna university the fee amount is double.specialy for a unique course like petroleum, marine Engineering, nautical science fee is so high. The student with very loss mark are asked to pay donations.

Campus Life

2

Very less girls count overall university hold only a maximum of 150 female students approximately. all extracurricular activities are there good lab facility, playground, swimming pool, gym, etc. Twice the year they conduct intercompetition sports meet. There is no issue or problem with religion, cast nationality, race, rich, gender all are equally treated.

Hostel Facilities

2

Not bad. They provide non-veg at night and veg at lunch. Briyani every Saturday. Their cultural food is severed for all nations. North Indian have there owned menu south has there owned and other than Indian have their food.

Exam Structure

Question paper is set by our own staffs so it is easily predictable. Internal 1 carries 5 marks, internal 2 carry 10 marks, model exam carries 15 marks and another 10 marks is for attendance and seminars. Comparing to anna university it is very easy to clear exams

Admission

Went for the admission department they gave a brief idea about all the course they provide criteria for marine and others varies. As I am interested only in BE pet I enquired only about it. I got the admission form which is 1000 rs and applied it with all the detail required and they gave the dates for entrance exam.

Faculty

4

More than 60% of Faculty are from the industry they have a very good experience they guide with friendly behavior. Most of the teachers are from ONGC which is the great oil company of India. Even retired staff of ONGc come as visiting faculty who thought ous life experience.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.
