Remarks

On a personal experience these 3 years in college have been the best 3 years of my life. I've been good friends met great professors who have helped me beyond college. The college has given me a face value and recognition.

Entrance Preview

I took BBA entrance at st xaviers, christ and symbiosis but then I went ahead with Bcom honors from sxc calcutta as it is the most reputed college and course here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college is huge as it has a vast number of courses. I'm doing Bcom honors in Marketing. The course is designed towards management. There are weekly seminars which take place where educated and experienced speakers come to share their thoughts and guide us to the management procedures.

Internships Opportunities

The college does not provide internship as such but provides recommendations. The college gives us basically an letterhead where it writes a recommendation for internship with college stamp and sign of authorities. Which makes getting an internship easier.

Placement Experience

4.5

There is also a very good placement cell which provides good opportunities to learn and provides the final year students to sit in for interviews and a variety of firms come for placements and recruitment where the stipend is good enough around 40k a month. This year companies like aon, IBM and wipro had come for placements.

College Events

4.5

There are number of societies in the college. From xaviers management society to xaviers commerce society which run events almost every week in the college. The main event is a blockbuster in the city Xavotsav which is a 4 day fest where celebrities from across the nation come and celebrate on the last day.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees of Bcom honors morning is 10-12k a quarter. Which is subsidized. But the evening is a bit more expensive at 18-20k a quarter. This is for Bcom honors course marketing and finance. With free library, WiFi and cyber room access. For other courses it varies from 15k a quarter to 25k a quarter for mass communication.

Fees and Financial Aid

Good students get scholarships upto 100%. The needy ones can apply in the college office and the administration will definitely help them out. They are quite helpful and ready to provide 50% minimum scholarships to good students with average backgrounds. Loan facilities are readily available by bank of baroda branch of the college located inside the college.

Campus Life

4

The Bcom morning is only all boys apart from this the ratio is quite good. All kinds of students from all communities are here without any discrimination or status. There is no ragging here. The administration is strict and the students and professors are very friendly and open towards all caste or race.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The St xaviers hostel is location at ajc bose Road. Along with female hostel opposite to it. The hostel admission is only for students who come from outside with a minimal fee of 2k a month. The food is decent and the administration is a bit strict on timings and study time which Is managed by father.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network of St xaviers college is known all throughout calcutta. They are very strong and are the backbone of the college. They organise events, raise funds of development and support the entire college events. They help students in exposure and after completion every body is welcome into the alumni.

Exam Structure

The exams were followed under the University of calcutta on a semester basis but form 2018 onwards the college has become Autonomous and it has its own papers and the students can drop subjects. This is very good as it helps the students chill and focus of subjects that they are capable of. Providing them more opportunities to learn.

Admission

I got admission on basis of my class 12 marks. The percentage followed by an interview with the principal. I was through the sports department so that benefitted me additionally with entry into the college team along with captaincy. The college is very reputed with worthy administrative system and is a strict disciplinary one.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is very very good. The professors and the head of departments are gems. They are very helpful in guiding you even after your completion of course. The help you in projects and Internships. The write recommendations which help in further admission for further studies after college.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
