Remarks

There should be a hostel, better labs. I understand it's government funded & things like hostel needs lots of approval but that something they must do as its needed badly.

Entrance Preview

I completed my 12th & didn't have much idea or guidance on what to do. Everyone was either going to college or army or abroad for higher studies. Well I personally thought I can do that too but funds didn't allow. Since I was more into sports so couldn't crack the scholarship either. I cracked an entrance for an MBA college but fee was too high. In the end joined Delhi University. Since was good with sports so got into College of Vocational studies, course Material Management as suggested by one of the known teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It was good, not very difficult. I was able to manage it along with sports as I had to travel 55 K.M. everyday from my rented apartment to college. Subjects varied each year, few of the subjects were same & 2-3 new were added like, first year had english, business law, literature, economics & material management. 2nd year had hindi instead of english as a language & then 3rd year had english again. Never understood the reason behind that. Now second year had another subject accounts being added then 3rd year had computer as additional subject in continuation to what I had in 1st year.

Internships Opportunities

There wasn't any internship program my had. Sad part as I could have gotten into my field of education that I wasted 3 years on. I don't completely held my college as responsible for that somewhere even I didn't try to find a job with that skill set in the market. To be true I didn't know where to look for one. A relative of mine who I'm closed with was working in the BPO that's how I got into BPO & working in one of the good ones with an odd shift.

Placement Experience

1.5

Well, I heard from few of my friends that there's a placement cell through which you can apply but I don't think anyone ever came for my course with the same skillset. There were other companies that came in from BPO & banks with customer service profile which was something that I could do without applying in cell as packages offered through cell was barely above 14K.

College Events

4

Oh, there were many. Sports competitions at university & inter college level. College functions, dramas, skits, music & dance competition at inter college level & what not. I participated in most of them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible, one of the things I liked about education system. It was very cheap, I was able to afford it myself without having to ask my family to pay for it. I planned few expeditions for the college that helped me save some money each year & pay my annual fee. I did manage few other expenses (a cell phone, shopping clothes etc) as well through that which my pocket money of Rs.1500 didn't meet.

Fees and Financial Aid

Nope, not that I'm aware of one. I think there should be one if there wasn't. Its a very important part of the education system, giving fair chance to everyone regardless of its race & community to study for free.

Campus Life

3

Labs were average, well coz my school had better labs. But I won't rate my college labs very poor as required things were available. Cultural teams were very active as I always saw them practicing or planning for one or the other event. I was also part of the college fashion team for 2 years. We participated in BITS Pilani cultural fest as well other then inter college events.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There wasn't a hostel in college. I wish they can build one as it's really very difficult for out station students.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were good, I expected that there would be harsh ragging but it was healthy. I liked that as that involved lot of fun & we got along easy with our seniors. I was also be able to develop a social network with my seniors. they were very helpful & ragging was fun. That taught me many things in life like how to survive in any phase of life & not to creep for things.

Exam Structure

It was good. Held twice a year & once a year held final exams. there were some practical exams as well which were part of final exams. Attendance section was also dedicated 15 marks that half of the class was able to get.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty was good as one of my language teachers use to mark me present even when I was not in class & involved with my sports practice & curricular activities.

Placement Experience:

Placements of my college are average when compared with other B-schools of similar level. The companies which have visited so far for internships are mostly start ups like Wealth Blue and Outlook, but some other companies like ITC, Bajaj Capital and Coca Cola moon beverages have also come on campus. The highest stipend promised so far is 15,000 for 3 months or 10,000 per month for 2 months. A lot of students are yet to be placed, both for final and summer placements. My plan is also to get a job post my PGDM.
