Course Curriculum Overview
My branch preference was CSE then IT, it got IT in accordance with my rank. IT is also a very trending and competitive branch now-a-days. The faculty:student ratio is decent; neither so good, nor so bad. There are around 70 to 80 students in my branch. The faculty is very skilled and highly qualified. Many of them have done their M.Tech or P.hd from reputed colleges in India and from abroad. Their teaching method is average, but many of them have a vast knowledge in their paricular field. In B.Tech every semester has 2 Mid Semester exams and 1 End Semester examination. Passing them is not a very difficult task, and if you study regularly you will get a good CGPA.
Internships Opportunities
The college does provide internship opportunities in the 3rd year, that is from the start of 5th sem. Many students get internship in campanies like BSNL, DUCAT Noida, Coding Ninja, IIT Kanpur, IIIT Allahabad, and many more.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placement from the 7th semester. Many reputed companies visit the college for placement like Samsung, Paytm, Optum, SDS, and many more. The average package in the IT branch is around 12 lakhs. Around 90% eligible students gets placed every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Currently there is no policy such as fee hike policy. The cost to study is very low as compared to the private colleges. You can apply for external scholarship if you want, but the college itself provides a scholarship program for the EWS students. Many companies visit it's campus, so on campus job is not a very big issue.
Campus Life
The annual fest and the tech fest occurs at the same time. AAGAZ, AARAMBH, TECHNIKA are the sports, annual, and tech fests respectively. They are conducted in the month of April. The library contains a wide variety of books, newspaper, magazines, and journals. Their are several clubs for different activites like sports, dance, music, singing, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is a little disappointing, as the hostel hygiene and cleanliness is not maintained properly. And apart from that the hostels for boys are so far away from the main academic area. The hostel mess is not so good, the quality of food becomes good and some days it becomes very bad. Registration for hostel and mess is done in the hostel itself. I recommend renting a room of PG near the college.
Admission
To get into the B.Tech course of this college you have to first get a decent rank in the JEE MAINS examination. The admission in this college is based on the rank you get in the JEE MAINS exam. Then it's just a piece of cake, you have to apply for the course whenever the applications are out and you will to fill up the branch preferences according to your need. The application fee varies but it's generally 2000 rs. Various reservations are available like OBC, SC/ST, girls quota, etc.
Other Applied Colleges
Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
It was far too far away from my home town.
