Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum for all the courses is very well designed and is on par with that of NITs and IITs as it was designed with those in mind. The faculty also seem to be skilled and almost 85% of the faculty hold PhDs.The faculty-student ratio is quite moderate and has proven to be quite sufficient. Exams are regularly conducted with two periodicals and one end-semester exam for most subjects and some subjects also require the student to do project work to showcase the knowledge received in the course
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of the student are decided during the admission process. There are two categories scholarship and nonscholarship. The scholarship category varies from 1.25L to 3.75L for tuition fees which is divided into 4 slabs and non non-scholarship category has 4.5L. The slabs in the scholarship category are decided based on the rank of the student. Also, the hostel and mess fees add up to another 1L. There are no in-campus jobs available and is also not possible to do any part-time jobs during the course.
Campus Life
There are various clubs available on campus and a student can choose to be a part of them. The annual tech fest conducted on the campus Tantrotsav is conducted around the time of December every year. The library on the campus is well-equipped with all kinds of books that a student might require and the classrooms are also well-equipped to make the teaching process comfortable to both the teacher and the student. There is also importance given to sports and extracurriculars.
Admission
Eligibility of the course was to have a minimum of 75% in physics, chemistry, and maths in the 12th standard examination. Entry was possible through both JEE score as well as AEEE which is conducted by the college. The application can be done on the official website of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetam. Allegedly there was reservation for home state students but the number of seats was greatly reduced last year. After the exam, the publication of results was done very late and the follow-up of what the student was to do was not specified.
