Course Curriculum Overview
I always had an interest in mechanical as I really enjoyed learning physics in 11th and 12th grade, and noticed that mechanical engineering had more to do with it. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:100. The minimum requirement of the faculty is to have a Ph.D. and publish research papers, with good faculty. The teaching method is either by board smart board or a lab. The term exams are conducted once every half semester.
Internships Opportunities
There are many companies that offer internships such as Corizo, Amazon, etc. With a stipend of 75000 rupees. Projects and outcomes of the tasks include clarity in core fields and a requirement of a certain CGPA for some companies.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester onwards, students are eligible for campus placements. Companies such as Amazon, Bosch, etc, many offers had been made. The highest package offered is 56.75 LPA and the average package is almost 7 LPA. 95% of students get placed with the minimum package being 3LPA. My plans are to do a masters in India.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are a bit more for those entering through management quota from 3.5 LPA to 6.25 LPA, but for those entering through merit, it could range anywhere from 1.25 LPA to 3.25 LPA. Slab-wise scholarship is offered.
Campus Life
The annual fest is called anokha and the tech fest is called Inferno. But alternate semesters, when anokha is not conducted, another fest called amritotsavam is celebrated with many workshops and club performances. Some clubs are Motoamrita, Amrita Racing BAJA, etc. All the prescribed Books are available. Classroom amenities, it's a good environment to study peacefully. Sports and extracurricular activities, there are clubs that are responsible for these activities.
Hostel Facilities
Room facilities include one separate bed (cots must be bought by students) and one cupboard, with a pair of chairs and one table for two students. The meal is good enough. Registration can be done via the website.
Admission
15000 rank was the course cut-off for mechanical engineering. The application can be found online and dates will be given in the form on the admit card. No reservations as I am outside Coimbatore. The improvement needed is to remove the home state quota reservation.
