Life at Nit Trichy

Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a core branch and one can get a better package with it. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:70 for freshers. For the first years, most faculty members are Ph.D. scholars, but there are also professors and associate professors. Term exams are easy for first years but somewhat difficult from 2nd year onwards which are held 2 times in a semester.

The internship offers provided to the students of NIT Trichy depend on the branch they belong to. Companies offering internship opportunities visit the campus right from the beginning of the third year. Most management and marketing companies allow students of all branches to sit for placements. IT giants like Amazon, Microsoft, and Uber usually prefer CSE students. Companies like Nvidia, and Qualcomm prefer students from EEE, ICE, and CSE. MME students are offered very limited internship opportunities from core companies like Tata Steel, Reliance, etc. As a general trend, it is observed that CSE students receive internship offers more easily in comparison to students of other branches. Off-campus internships are also available but the pay scale offered might be less.

From 5th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook, Intel, Huawei, and many more visit the campus. The highest package in the year 2022 is 40 lpa. The average is 10.5 lpa. 73% of students get placed. After getting my degree I will opt for placement.

The Course fee is increased by approximately 10% every year. For the first semester fee is around 120000. From the second semester onwards it's 62500 for the even semester and 80000 for the odd semester. You will get numerous scholarships here.

Festember, Pragyan, nittfest, and sportsfete are some prominent fests here. Festember is conducted in September. Plenty of Books are available in the central library projector is there in each classroom with proper equipment. There are many grounds, courts, and indoor complexes on the campus. Spyder R&D and Delta Force are students run for coding.

Hostel quality is Moderate. The scarcity of water is also there. Meal quality is moderate. Hostel and mess registration is done on the day of physical reporting. The hostel is not affordable by taking amenities into consideration.

You should qualify for the JEE Mains exam. You can't directly apply for the college. You will be allotted college through Jossa counseling as well as CSAB counseling. If you belong to SC/ST then your tuition fee will not be charged.
