What Students Say
Likes
- Peer Group, Placements are the positives. Plus the coding culture is also good.
- The sports culture of the college is also very good with good sports facilities and tie up with other colleges is also good.
- The fests of the college are also very good. Many famous artists like Amit Trivedi, Jubin Nautiyalave performed in the college.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of the college is not up to the mark.
- The faculty is not very supportive and it is difficult to do side hustle.
- The hostel facility is also not good since three students are adjusted in double seater rooms.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good and is inspired from IIT Kanpur. The faculty here is well qualified and mostly from IITs. The scope to learn from the lectures is good but only for a few of the professors. Overall the quality of education is good but there is a lot of pressure to maintain a good CGPA, however, I suppose it is for our own good.
Placement Experience
The placement in the college are decent. The college is famous for its coding culture. The students become eligible for placements in the 6th semester. Various companies like Deloitte, Adobe, Media.net, Tekion etc. visit the college. In total around 60-70 companies visit the college. Around 390 offers were made this year and around 90% of the registered students were placed. My plan is to get a good placement from the college and pursue the job and will look for a master's degree in the future if needed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is the biggest con of this college and given the fee hike of 10% every year, plan to take this college only if you are serious about study and can afford to study here. Merit based Scholarship is also available here but it is for namesake and you would have to work really very hard and get a CGPA above 9.25 to avail it. Scholarships for students who have lost one or more parent is also there and it is more lenient compared to the merit based scholarship.
Campus Life
The life at the campus is good. All the basic amenities are available. Their is a canteen, a barber shop and a restaurant. Social life is also good, their are various clubs which you can join to pursue your interest. The tech fest of the college is PLINTH, which is held in January every year. Classrooms are equipped with adequate technology and books and journals are easily available in the library. Sporting culture of the college is pretty good, every year the sports fest DESPORTIVOS is conducted which is the best fest of the college. All the main sports like cricket, football, volleyball, badminton etc. are played here.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is average. Rooms are triple sharing for first and second year and are furnished with a bed, a table, a cupboard for each person. Mess quality is average. Although you will get bored eating the same food again and again, but still it is better compared to other colleges. Hostel is registered on the day of arrival itself. It is given on a lottery basis. First year boys are resided in BH1 which is the biggest hostel of the college and girls in the only GH.
Admission
For admission in this college, they release a cut off which is generally above 90 percentile. We have to fill the preference order of all the branches we want to opt for and are allotted branch based on our ranks. Details about application and fees can be found on the college website. I want that the admission process be more efficient and results should be timely announced.
