Likes
- Hostels are very comfortable to stay in and even we get to be in single rooms.
- We get to choose our own side whether to go in core or noj core and we can plan on that.
- The professors are friendly and they encourage us to go into the fields thaf we like.
Dislikes
- We dont have too many cultural events and life is kind of boring.
- Iit indore is too far from the city and it usually takes a couple of hours plus change in transprt to reach there.
- Need for more food outlets to be present inside of campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty here especially for electrical engineering are top tier and have qualifications from various international universities. They are also keen on holding important talks regarding research in various fields and are always engaged in encouraging students. Term exams for EE are tough and passing in such courses depends on the student's interest in the subject.
Internships Opportunities
Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, AMD, Microsoft, Jaguar, Amazon, Intel, etc. companies approach internships first and they take students depending on their performance in the test and interview. This usually happens after 2nd year and at the beginning of the third year.
Placement Experience
Usually around 3rd year students go for internships and by the end of 4th year, they are landed in placements. Depending on the courses concerned companies will be visiting and most of them will be from the core software side and opt for students who are good at coding. The average package from all the branches is 21 lpa and the highest is around 60 lpa. The percentage of students getting placements is more than 90 percent.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees here giving in to the fact that it is a govt institution are reasonable. Scholarships for women and category students exist and they are limited to a number of students who perform excellently in academics. Banks like hdfc and Canara are on campus and they give financial loans and other loans to students.
Campus Life
We have our annual techno-cultural fest Fluxus. Usually happens around March and it is the biggest fest in central India. Apart from that, we have other cultural nights like Garba, etc. And also sports fests. The library is very sophisticated and has several types of books and journals including research related. The classrooms are very good with an amazing infrastructure.
Hostel Facilities
We have studio apartments as hostels. There is a flat sharing system and each flat has 5 to 6 rooms that are shared. They are very spacious and are comfortable to stay in. The accommodation can be taken in either guest house but usually, it is also inside hostels and they charge a reasonable amount for that. Mess food in iit indore is really good. For accommodation, we need to send emails to concerned officials.
Admission
I have written first mains then advanced. After getting a reasonable rank in advanced we would be given options to fill the colleges in josaa rounds. Depending on our rank we would be allotted the college. The seats for institutes also are available for various categories hence reservation works here too.
