Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good. From last year NEP 2020 has been implemented in MNNIT.So from the first year itself, you get to study subjects related to your core engineering branch, unlike other colleges where the first-year curriculum is the same for all branches. Faculty to student ratio is 1:60 in the chemical engineering branch. All the professors are highly qualified. Most of them have done their PHDs from IITs. But only some of the professors are good. Most of the study you have to do on your own.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities that MNNIT provides its students are excellent. Many companies come here to hire students as interns. Companies start coming from the end of 2nd year for internships. They hire interns for various roles.
Placement Experience
MNNIT is one of the top engineering colleges in terms of placement. Its placement is better than many IITs. In 2023 the average package of B.Tech students was 20.34 lpa. The maximum package was 1.35 cr. 92.3% of all the eligible students got placed in MNNIT. For chemical engineering branch average package and highest package were 13.55 lpa and 52 lpa respectively. More than 97% of the eligible students got placed in chemical engineering branch of MNNIT. In short, MNNIT provides its students with excellent placement opportunities.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees including hostel and mess fees are approx 1.2 lac/year. So in approx 9.5 lac, you get your 4-year B.Tech degree completed. There are various scholarships present for students who have a poor financial background.
Campus Life
The college infrastructure is a bit old. Although the campus life is excellent here. There are various tech, cultural, and sports clubs. Once a year, a cultural fest (Culrav) and a technical fest(Avishkar) are conducted. For readers, a well-equipped library is present.
Admission
To gain admission into the Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering program of MNNIT, one needs to take JEE Main entrance examination. After the entrance exams, Josaa and CSAB counseling is held through which one gets admission into the NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs of India depending upon the JEE Main rank of the student. The cutoff varies year by year. In MNNIT and all other NITs of India, 50% of the total seats are reserved for home state candidates and the other 50% for other state candidates. You can find last year's cutoff rank category-wise on the website of Josaa Counselling.
