Remarks
One should have got at least 55% in boards in order to be eligible for HBTU counselling. Selection is purely based on the JEE-Mains CRL. Application form and other details are available on the official website of hbtu which is - hbtu.ac.in There is 5% reservation for other states. There is also few (fee waiver) seats given to those who are economically weak. And the reservation for castes like obc sc/st and ews is also there according to the crl in jee mains. The admission process is absolutely fine and I think everything is well organised here. There are 3 rounds of counselling along with internal sliding and an additional round as well. In case seats are available after these rounds, spot counselling is also conducted if required where any student having jee mains crl better than the closing rank can physically report to the campus for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, Electronics is a core branch and placements are also good here. Well, the faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1:40. All the faculty are highly qualified and have done PhDs from reputed institutes. The teaching method is simple and efficient. There are 2 mid-semester exams and an end-semester exam to end the semester. One mid-semester exam each month and end sem is after a duration of approx 2 months. The difficulty of the exam is based on the amount of study one has done. Paper is easy to pass if one has attended the lectures and made the notes.
Internships Opportunities
There are various internships going on at the university. Students are eligible for internships from the third year of their b. Tech course. Several companies offer internships to students and pay stipends according to their offers monthly.
Placement Experience
Well, placements are good here. There is almost a 100% placement rate in technology branches. Companies like TCS ..Wipro .. Tata ..etc. visit the campus for on-campus placements. The highest package was 43 LPA this year. The average package is around 7 lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for one year is 135000 which includes academics. Students can avail the benefits of the up scholarship given by the government of up. Apart from that ..there are various internship and training programs going on in the university that can help the students to do financially well.
Campus Life
There are loads of events going on every year in hbtu Kanpur. The technical fest is named 'Technika' which is held by the technical sub-council every year in the month of April. Books are easily available in the Tagore library. For the first year .. classes are held in the lecture hall complex which is well-equipped with blackboards and air conditioners. From 2nd year onwards the classes for each branch are held in their respective departments where amenities such as projectors ..computers .. ACs ...smart boards ..etc. are available. A huge amount of extracurricular activities take place here including every sport (indoor and outdoor), dramatics, robotics, technical, cultural, literary, and many more. Clubs such as Autorob, Aero Club, etc. Are run by students.
