A Glance through MNNIT

I chose this branch because of my interest in EE. The faculty student ratio is good enough. Qualification of all faculties is good . Professors are Post Grad or PHD from IITs. The faculties use chalk board method, some use presentations to teach. All the faculties are good except a few. The exams are conducted based on a defined academic schedule. Some exams are easy to pass, whereas some exams are difficult, varies from professor to professor.

There are various companies that offer various roles . There are many companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, DE Shaw, etc. You need to make various projects, the companies select students based on CGPA and various projects. Giving rating based on seniors experience.

The students become eligible for internships from 4th semester and eligible for jobs from 7th semester. There are hundreds of companies that come for placements and nearly a thousand offers were made for 803 students. The highest package in the college is 135 lakhs and the average package is 20.34 lakhs. The percentage placement for Btech is 92.3%. I have thought to either go for software companies or apply for CAT.

The fees structure is well designed and very affordabl, depends on family income of every individual. The fee structure of 4 years is handed at the start of the first year. The remaining mess fees is also refunded and transparency is maintained. There are various scholarships available depending on family income and academic performance of an individual, varies from state to state. I did not get any scholarship until now. As I am in first year I am not eligible to apply for any job or internship.

The Freshers' party is called Swagat, generally conducted in the month of August/ Sept. The Annual cultural fest is Culrav, generally conducted in the month of April. The tech fest name is Avishkaar conducted in the month of Dec/ Jan. There are various journals available in the library, on various topics related to Engineering. There are various books all based on various branches of engineering. Less books are available on Polity and Public service exam preparations. the calssrooms are decent, with ACs. There are many sports that can be played, there are proper functional clubs related to every sport except for swimming. There are various clubs for extra curricular activites for ex. Drama, dance, literaray, modelling, etc. The Anokhi Pehel is an initiative by the students of MNNIT to teach underpriviledged children. the Rotaract club is very active. Various short term intiatives are taken on a regular basis, so as to return back to the society.

There are various facilited provided by the hostel administration in every room for ex. 3 tables, 3 cupboards, 3 beds ,3 fans, 3 lights and a spacious room for first year witha balcony. The meal quality is good, variety is a bit less. The menu is decied by the students themselves. The registration is done at the time of admission. I haven't rented any room, I stay in the hostel.

The Eligibility of the course was to clear the JEE Mains exam and admission was done on the basis of rank. The application process was fully throught JOSAA . I did not avail any reservation benefits. I want the admission process to be more relaxing for students so that they dont miss out the chance to apply, after the dates for JOSAA are gone. Late fee payement with application should exist .

No, after clearing JEE Mains Exam, you just have to apply to the college either through JOSAA or CSAB and then reach the college at the time of 'physical registration'. You have to deposit the desired amount of fees and the admission is done. You don't have to attend any GD/Interview for the admission.
