My Experience as a Fresher

I chose B.Tech Electrical Engineering because I want to prepare for higher examinations and study astrophysics. The faculty: student ratio is 1:20. All of the faculties are highly qualified and have done there PhD. Almost all the teachers are interactive and really good at teaching. They explain every topic in details and will keep teaching unless every students' doubts have been cleared. There are sessional two exams and two end semester exams. I haven't still given any exams but from what I have heard is that the exams are moderate but are easy to pass if we have studied atleast 1 month prior to the exam.

Students become eligible for campus placement from 7th semester. More than 100 companies visited the campus. Sone include Infosys, TCS, Amazon etc. and there are on average 750 jobs offered. The highest package was offered by Autodesk of Rs. 3900000 in 2023 and the average package was 450000 for the year 2023. The percentage of students that got placed is 79. My plans after getting my bachelor's degree is to study masters.

There is no fees hike. The fee for 2nd and 3rd year is less than that of first year. There is scholarship available for students who secure positions in end semester and sessional exams for all years. Since I am in first year I haven't got any job till now but placement process is really good in this college.

The annual fest or unifest is really grand. Every year some celebrities come to entertain us. Dances and songs of various cultures also takes place. The tech fest or hackathon is also really great. Various colleges from all over India participate in the tech fest. Almost every books that are required for engineering and also other courses are available in the library. Classrooms are clean and equipped with comfortable desks and chairs and also projectors. There are green boards for teaching. There are many sports team of the college itself including cricket, football, volleyball etc. They have got first prizes in many years. There is student council run by the students of our college that looks after all the fests and extra-curricular activities. Sone of the clubs under student council are Management, Studio D for dance, GMC for music etc.

Hostels are moderate. The 2 seater rooms are really small whereas the 4 seater rooms are will spaced. We get beds, tables, closet and an attached balcony with our room. The meal is fair. It's sometimes good whereas bad at times. Hostel is not easily available as there are way more students than seats available in hostel. The price of hostel is fair. It's neither too high not too low. The registration process is very simple for hostel. We just need to pay the fees and it will be booked. I have not rented any room or pg. I opted for in campus hostel only.

I have taken admission via merit basis. Eligibility of the course is 10+2(Intermediate). People can find the application form and fee details from the college website. Application dates are decided by the college and is also available at college website or can ask in college helpdesk via the helpline number provided in the college website. There are few reservation benefits for those who have opted through JEE Main examination. They get a scholarship of 50%. Sc/St/Obc(ncl) students can qualify in higher ranks. Scholarship is mainly for home state students. The improvement that I want to see in the admission process is that college should more strict in selection criteria. They can message students of their own so that students might know when admission process will start and should avail scholarship for all.
