What Students Say
Likes
- Placement faculty and IT companies nearby
- Location is good and easily accessible via transport
- NOIDA being a metro city makes it a better place than others
Dislikes
- The campus life is not that great and the area is also not that large
- Sports and festivals are not given much importance
- Dress code is the biggest downside as it started from this year in 2023-24 so that's a problem for me though
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BTech CSE in JSS Noida because I had interest in coding and wanted to pursue a job in software engineering. JSS is a good college in terms of placements and the faculty is also great. There are a good number of faculty too and they are all qualified enough. The teachers are also good and their teaching methods are not outdated. The faculty is supportive but can be little harsh at rather moments. This is my first year so I can't tell you about the term exams but we have one in a month after our classes started so we've got enough time The tests in classes were not so difficult and teachers just want to check if the students are attentive. Other than that it's pretty ok overall
Internships Opportunities
There are various internship opportunities provided by many nearby companies ranging from 5000 to 20000 a month Projects are easy to make and entertaining as well as educative Overall internships provide good knowledge about the job culture
Placement Experience
The placement is quite average in campus But out campus is good as there are many IT companies nearby so it's pretty easy to crack a job there The highest package as far as I know was 33lpa last year and average goes around 8lpa Almost 85% students get placed decently My plans after the degree is to get a high paying job in nearby area
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is better compared to other Colleges with same facilities but also the college doesn't provide much. I haven't noticed any fees hike in recent years. The cost is average around 6 lakhs for 4 years if you count everything including your own expenses. The scholarship we can avail is the UP gov scholarship and the registrar here helps us filling that but overall you'll have to apply it by your own.
Campus Life
The campus life is not that shiny it's pretty basic Sometimes it may feel like school but it's average overall The sports faculty is good but you won't find many people engaging into sports as it's not that great There are many clubs by the students and you can take part in any of them
Hostel Facilities
My hostel room has three beds for three students and same number of study tables which are attached to each other. There's comfortable space for everyone and we have enough space for our items The meal is same as every hostels meal it's never good but it's neither bad The menu is designated for a week and then it repeats every week The hostel affordability was a bit hard as we had to do the hostel booking faster than others as it fills fast We can only apply for hostel after admission so it would take time
Admission
I gave joint entrance exam and secured around 92 percentile or a rank of 90000 in which I knew I won't be able to get a government college with cse so I opted for the best private college at that rank and accordingly to my families income I applied through UPTAC counselling which started in July and I was charged 1000 Rs for registration then I filled JSS as my topmost priority and in the third round I got CSE as it was what I wanted. It was also due to my state and OBC qouta that I got the seat or else I might haven't got CSE and then I paid 20000 seat acceptance fee as per UPTAC which later got adjusted into my admission fees. The only downside was the admission process was late this year around 3 months but other than that it was pretty ok We had to wait about 6 hours in the college for the complete admission as there was a huge amount of students but that was comfortable enough and we could have always done it later too. Overall the admission process was a little hectic but ok.
Other Applied Colleges
Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology - [KIIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
The fees was too high as compared to my income. And JSS was a good college in way less fees
