Manipal - A Place to Be

The Course Curriculum for the First year is COMMON to all irrespective of their branch. Since the Second year the Main Curriculum commences. The Reason for me choosing mechatronics is solely because of my Interest in Robotics. Mechatronics is a fairly new branch in india and it will take for companies to get to know that such a branch exists. While abroad this is a fairly exposed branch with Six Figures as their Opening. The curriculum for Mechatronics is Very well updated to the industry standards and makes you fall in love with what you're doing. There are around 80 - 100 Students in a class while there is one teacher. Even if the number seems to be a lot it is not. Teachers know the students well. The faculty in Manipal are well qualified and have a deep understanding in their subject. Many or i should say Most of the teachers here have multiple research papers to their name. There are Midsems and Endsems with some assignments and quizzes throughtout the sem. They are easy to Pass!

There are a lot of Internship opportunities provided by the College which you can pursue during your Breaks. A lot of Startups hire Students are interns. Big Companies like Microsoft, Flipkart, and Amazon take interns from Manipal and later keep them Full-time. The Stipend depends on the Company but on a rough scale, it will be 40000 - 70000 to Maybe 100000 if you work hard enough.

The placements in Manipal are great too. The placement cell works hard to get the best companies with the best offers. Students from the 7th Semester can apply for placements. Companies ranging from BlackRock to Mercedes to Microsoft give a visit to Manipal to recruit students. The highest Package this year is from 54LPA from Microsoft. and the average package stands at around 12 Lakhs. 90% of the Students eligible to sit for placements are placed at a company. My plan after the degree is to get a master's degree from abroad in the field of Robotics.

The Fees structure depends on the course that you've opted for. But on a rough scale, the total fees including your Hostel and Mess go to around 25 Lakhs for 4 years. There are scholarships which the college provides which are Free ship - Involves 100% Fee waiver and is offered to the top rankers of MET. Scholar - Involves 20% fee waiver and is offered to students having 101 - 5000 MET rank. Achiever - Involves 20% fee waiver for the Top students in College These scholarships require you to maintain a CGPA of 8 and Above to avail yourself of the benefits of them. You can get student loans if needed and there are many stalls set up in college during the induction programme to help you with the same.

The Campus Life in Manipal is as good as it gets. Firstly the Campus is very diverse so you get people from all over the world to interact with. Talking about annual fests there are two fests conducted. One is Tech Tatva, the tech fest of Manipal and the Other one is Revels, which is the cultural fest. Tech Tatva is generally conducted in October and Revels in March/April. The library in Manipal is world-class. It has all the books that you need ranging from academics to novels to fiction to nonfiction. There are Study halls set up in the library for the Students to study. The overall infrastructure of the Classrooms is Amazing. They are all air-conditioned while being very clean. The board is much visible from the back benches as well and the classrooms are elevated. Sports and extracurriculars are very good in Manipal with one of the best sports complexes called Marena. There are many student projects under the name of College which help you Learn Practically

The hostel rooms in Manipal are Good. There are Multiple hostels you can choose from ranging from double non ac to single AC rooms. The facilities provided in the room are a Bed, a study table, a chair and a cupboard. They provide a BedSheet, toiletries, umbrellas and A water bottle while checking in to the Room. The Quality of Food in Manipal is Great Depending on the Mess you choose. It is fairly Home Like and you won't face any issues with the Food. The registration process for the Hostel and Mess is done completely online as there is a separate online portal for Manipal hostels.

Manipal Institute Of Technology follows a Robust mode of Exam. There is an Entrance test Called MET ( Manipal Entrance Test ). MET can get you a total score of 240 and the subjects are divided between Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. The eligibility of the Course is a minimum of 50% in Boards and a good enough score in MET to get your preferred branch. The Application form and Application Dates are announced on their Website. There are no Reservations in MIT Manipal. Keep in mind though, Whilst MET is easier than JEE mains and Advanced it has a twist where you can't visit the question again that you just answered or not make any changes in the answer once you click NEXT.
