Course Curriculum Overview
Choose ECE cause it has a wide range of opportunities in the future and it is a core branch so jobs will always be available. There are quite a few professors and each has a good degree, with some of them having PhDs too. On average there's about 1 teacher per 100 students which isn't really a good thing but is better than quite a few colleges. Most faculty is good at teaching but there are exceptions. You have 1 mid sem 2 months into the semester and then another 2 months later you have an end sem exam.
Placement Experience
Not much information currently on this but the highest package is somewhere around 60L. About 60% students get placed every year and after the degree I'll mostly go for a higher degree in a more known college.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are pretty reasonable for it being a private college but still on the expensive side. There are numerous scholarships based on board percentages and MET rank and your fees can also be paid using student loans.
Campus Life
There is a tech event called Tech Tattva held in September-October time and an annual fest called Revels both really enjoyable with games, talks, and concerts. All classrooms have AC and a projector so it's pretty nice. Manipal houses one of the largest indoor sports complexes called Marana so sports its pretty nice and there are numerous clubs and beaches to hang out in.
Hostel Facilities
Some hostels have common washrooms but most of them have rooms with attached washrooms and there are also rooms with AC that are available (obviously more expensive). You have an option of single/double rooms too and triple if you are a girl. You can register with an online portal which opens based on your rank in MET and the food is pretty nice compared to most messes.
Admission
I took a separate entrance exam called MET which you'll find on MIT's official website. There are several scholarships they offer(I didn't avail of any) and a few based on your 12th PCM percentage too. In the MET exam, you visit a question only once and can't go to a question again after exiting it. It prevents cheating for the most part.
