I took PET exam which is an entrance exam for MP colleges. I scored 108 out of 200. With these numbers I could not go to whichever college I wished and among the colleges I could have gone to Oriental was best because its quite popular in MP due to its attractive infrastructure and placement guarantee.

If you are going to college for getting deep knowledge of your subjects and hoping to do some research then this college is not the one for you. Faculties will only teach whatever they know even if it is wrong and what is sufficient to get passed in exam. Don't expect any detailed knowledge.

As I did B.E there was no internship only minor training. That was based on agile methodology. In my interview, interviewer asked so many questions related with minor training that he made me wish that I had done my training properly. So make sure you do internship or training very well.

Placement and job opportunities are very remarkable. The placement management will leave no stone unturned until the maximum number of students get placed. Usually companies like cognizant,Infosys,wipro,Accenture,avaya,TCS,Tech mahindra and other small companies come every year taking around 800-1000 students. Package of almost all companies are around 3 to 4 lakhs and not more than that.

Tech fest is held every year and each time its sponsors get increased. Its quite a large scale fest which grabs eyes of all MP engineering students. It includes technical competitions like robotics,debugging to cultural competitions like dance,skit etc.

There is a scholarship program for students who received more than 85% in 12th standard in MP. I availed it and received 10k every year.

There is no problem of gender inequality or racism or any other kind of discrimination. Also there is a strict policy of zero tolerance for ragging. You have farewell and fresher's parties to enjoy like other colleges have. As mentioned earlier there are all sort of competitions to participate. Also monthly workshop on various subjects like ethical hacking are held though not free of cost.

Hostel rooms are quite spacious. All seaters from single room to 12 sharing rooms are available. Also the hostels are in same campus as college its an added advantage. Rent is around 36K per year. Food is average but proper inspection is being done on rou

Since I participated in many of the events I had good interaction with seniors. Even some of them are still in touch. You always learn from the way a senior carries himself/herself. So it was good to have many inspiring seniors around me. It is little scary in beginning but once you know each other everything becomes smooth and happening.
