Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose this course because since childhood, I had a serious interest in knowing about how the body works. I was always curious that how one fall ill. Apart from those it's one of most noble profession which deals with the health of people. Also, it was the dream of my parents. Now coming to my college, the faculty:student student ratio is pretty good. Our batch consists of 250 students and there are atleast 10 faculties in each branch ( much more in clinical branches). The Lecture theatres are equipped with all required modern teaching aids with centralised AC facility. Each of the faculty had done PG in the concerned branch and have a handsome experience of teaching medicos. The teaching methodology is pretty decent. We have internal exams once in every 3 months and an annual MB exam. Well, it's a bit difficult to score good in MB exams, but with regular study and hardwork, one can score a distinction in the same.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

After completing the 4.5 years of study, one has to serve compulsory rotatory internship in the college. You'll be awarded with a monthly stipend of around ?35000. After getting the degree , you can opt for PG by giving another entrance exam or can apply for the post of Medical Office under State Government.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees is around 40 k and the hostel charges are around 15 k. Including the mess expenses, book expenses and other miscellaneous expenses, the grand total of a year's study is around 1-1.3 lakh. The meritorious and needy students can apply for various scholarships awarded by Government and private charitable trusts. It's really a boon for the students coming from economically weaker sections. After the course of 4.5 years, one has to serve compulsory rotatory internship and will be paid a monthly stipend of around ?35000 ( differs state to state).

Campus Life

4.5

There are many clubs and societies like Academic, Cultural, Drama, Social Service, Sports, etc formed out of the Student Union. It regularly holds different competitions and activities which help students to discover their hidden talents. There is a central library where students can calmly study, with availability of every subject's books. The books can be issued free of cost. There's a college gymnasium for all the gym freaks with just a nominal fee per month. It's equipped with all the latest equipments. The college has a huge central auditorium with a capacity of more than 1000 for all the college fests and functions conducted by various societies. In short, the college life is amazing !!

Hostel Facilities

3.5

One room is allotted to 3 students with all facilities of cot, shelves and electric points. There are 2 washroom complexes in each floor with seperate lavatory and bathrooms . Electricity and water facility is 24/7. Now coming to the mess food. Well you can't expect your mom's magical taste in the meal served, but it's pretty decent and affordable. Everyday both veg and non-veg items are prepared with proper hygiene. You can apply for the hostel during the college administration. And if available, you'll soon be allotted your room.

Admission

The course I'm enrolled is MBBS. The eligibility criteria for the same is securing qualification marks in NTA NEET-UG. The exam usually takes place in the month of May and the application form is released in Feb or March. One can find the application form on NTA website. Exam fee charged is around ?1500. After securing the qualifying marks, you'll be eligible to apply for the counseling processes conducted by NMC and various state counseling bodies by paying the counseling fee ( which is refundable). Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well organized by the authorities based on the latest medical aspect of our society. Practical classes and regular postings in hospital helps in better understanding. Being the only hospital in nearby cities, our hospital provides us a good exposure to varity of cases. Our Associate proff and HODs also look upto them and help us gain more real world experience. The best aspect of this field or if I have to say Why have I chose it is to serve the society. Absence of well qualified doc at the times of emergency is one of the leading causes of mortality in developing countried like India. Being in this profession, I just want to help people around me.
