Opting for this course was driven by its relevance to my career aspirations in Bachelor's degree in English. The faculty-student ratio is decent, fostering personalized attention. The faculty boasts impressive qualifications, holding advanced degrees and displaying adept teaching methods. Term exams are timely, offering ample preparation time, and passing isn't overly challenging with consistent effort and study.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure for the Bachelor in English course at Ananda Chandra College is affordable, not imposing a huge financial burden. There's a transparent policy concerning fee hikes, ensuring students are informed in advance about any changes. Additionally, I was fortunate to receive the "Swami Vivekananda Merit Scholarship" offered by the West Bengal government, which significantly eased the financial strain. This scholarship, coupled with financial assistance programs at the college, alleviated study costs. The college doesn't provides on-campus job opportunities.
Campus Life
Life at Ananda Chandra College is vibrant, offering a plethora of activities and events. The annual fest, "Anandotsav," takes place in February, which contains two days long musical night. The library boasts an array of books and journals, catering well to academic needs. Classrooms are equipped with modern amenities, facilitating a conducive learning environment. Sporting events like cricket and football tournaments are regular occurrences. Moreover, the English department hosts a student-driven reading book club, enhancing literary engagement. Socially, numerous festivities like Holi, freshers' parties, and musical nights add vibrancy. The college magazine, "Ananda Dhara," amplifies student voices and experiences. The campus encourages extracurricular activities, fostering a well-rounded experience for students. Additionally, there are various social groups, clubs, and a student-run website, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity among students.
Admission
To take admission in this college, you have to pass your class 12 with a good mark. A student can apply to this college through online where he or she have to pay a minimum amount of application fee ( in my time, it was around 200 rupees ). This college also offer the reservation of seats for SC, ST students.
